Ryann gave her acceptance letter to Tennessee State to her dad and Melrose and they were ecstatic. She also got accepted into Wayne state as well.
"This is wonderful honey!" Melrose said.
"Princess you've made me a proud father...why aren't you happy?"
"I am." Ryann said sitting on the couch next to them. "But, now I don't know what to do.""Choosing colleges is a hard decision. See what will best accommodate your major and activities." Melrose said.
"They both do but my dilemma is more socially. I want to get away and go out of state and plus Lauryn will be there to help guide me. But Wayne has Tommy, Bailey, RJ plus I'll be closer to JaRon.""Sometimes princess you have to follow your brain and you can't always remain in your comfort zone. Plus, RJ going to Tennessee he's not going to Wayne anymore." Her dad said.
Ryann was furious and barged into RJ's room as he laced up his shoes preparing to go out with Lauryn.
"So you wasn't gone tell me you changed your mind about schools?" Ryann said.
"I was but this week was all about prom so I forgot."
"You forgot to even mention to me that you were just gone ditch me?"
"Why you trippin doe?"
"Because you were just gonna leave me and not say anything!"
"My fault like I really honestly forgot but yeah...my mind is made up."
"Why? You talked about Wayne all year long."
"I know I did but I wanna get away..."
"For my best friend?"
"I mean not really, but it's a bonus to my benefit of her being there."
"All you tryna do is just lead my best friend on and--"
"You talking crazy for real...what's your problem?" RJ asked confused and thrown off by his emotional sister. Ryann breathed and calmed down."I got accepted into Tennessee state too."
"That's wassup."
"It's not because I don't know what to do! What about JaRon and Tommy and all my peoples here."
"I mean Tommy ain't worried about if you come or not to be honest. he got his own college swing going on so you gotta get yours. And JaRon? Shittttt I don't know sis that's a tough subject, you gotta talk to him bout that one."
"I gassed his head up telling him I was going to Wayne and he was going to state..."
"This is a situation where you honestly gotta do what you want to do but keep it in mind that you can always switch schools." RJ said. He got up and slightly hugged his sister."I'm about to take yo friend to the movies and put my hand on her thighs."
Ryann nudged her goofy ass brother and laughed with him. Ryann's heart and mind filled up and she decided to wait for JaRon to pick her up to go to paradise park. He walked inside and greeted her family and they soon left off.
Ryann swallowed and looked down with shaky palms. She was texting Tommy and Bailey in a group chat letting them know her dilemma and they offered the same ambiguous advice as RJ and her parents. Lauryn was all for JaRon but definitely wanted her best friend to get out of the mitten. Ryann couldn't hold it in anymore and she just told JaRon that she got accepted into Tennessee state.
"Congratulations baby!" JaRon said genuinely happy for her. Ryann thanked him and kissed his cheek but then asked what about them. JaRon got quiet and his heart fell,
"Ryann...I would love if you stayed here but deep down inside I wouldn't because I would feel like I held you back."
"Why?"
"Because we both know staying here isn't what you really want. I was considering going to Toledo state myself."
"But....could we maintain a relationship like that? I really don't wanna leave you."
"Leaving this state doesn't mean you left me Ryann. I see it in your eyes and everything...you want to escape and I support you. When we leave for school....they say distance makes the heart grow fonder."
Ryann smiled and grabbed his hand and kissed it. The thought of not being around JaRon crushed her but the thought of not going to school with her Twin and leaving the state made her feel like she was being held back.
