Ryann couldn't understand why this white boy had her mind so on clouds. JaRon had brown hair and dark gray eyes. He wasn't a wanna be hood white boy he was so cool and laid back and soft spoken. Ryann liked him a lot and wanted so badly to tell her brothers but Tommy was over protective of her and RJ wasn't gone be feeling the idea of her messing with a white boy. She really couldn't tell her dad because for one she wasn't ready to tell him she was seeing someone and two her dad wasn't a fan of interracial relationships because he felt like other races only lust for black women.
JaRon just stared at Ryann and adored her as a person. He wasn't one of the 'fascinated' white boy's though he preferred black women, but he just thought Ryann was a cool, smart girl which is rare these days. Her beautiful smile and her loyalty, her ability to get along with people but also speak her mind, he loved it. He thought she was classy and a diamond in the rough. Her chocolate skin, full lips, long weave, brown eyes, soft skin, were all just bonuses but very hefty bonuses.
"Did you tell your dad?" JaRon asked. "Not yet...." "I know we've had this conversation before but I feel like we should stop hiding."
Ryann knew he was right. He had already taken Ryann to meet his family and they loved her. They lived in the city of Southfield which is only one street away from Detroit but they didn't care who their son dated or where she was from.
"I am too but..." "I'm going at your pace Ryann I understand but realize that no one wants to be hidden." "Okay....just let me...I'll ease into it tonight." "I'm sorry Ry I don't wanna pressure you. It's just...,I want everyone to know that you're the girl I want and I'm willing and ready to do everything for you."
Ryann looked at her passenger seat at JaRon and smiled. He was a true sweetheart and gentleman. He made her feel comfortable, like herself, and sane in this crazy world. She felt like she shouldn't be scared to tell anyone about JaRon anymore; she feels her dad should judge JaRon based on his character and not the color of his skin.
Ryann walked inside the house at 11 at night and gently put her keys on the counter. Every time she left JaRon she would smile.
"You might as well give those keys to me."
Ryann jumped out of her skin to see her dad and Melrose in the living room in their pajamas."Daddy why? What i do?"
"Who were you with?"
"I don't get why I have to give my keys up--"
"Ryann Blue who were you with?"
Ryann twiddled her thumbs and looked down. She never lied to her dad because he was understanding and chill about most things except for school and boys."I was with...my friend."
"What friend? It's the same friend you skipped with again?"
Ryann looked down at the ground. She didn't skip because she didn't feel like being in class but it was the only time she could be with JaRon without RJ having a clue. Her twin brother was her best friend but she just couldn't reveal her seemingly forbidden affair with JaRon."Yes daddy but please can I explain?"
"There's nothing to explain you being super sneaky Ryann and I don't like that at all. I told you you never have to lie to me baby girl but you doing it anyway you disrespecting me."
"Dad can I just please tell you why?"
"Honey just....let her talk." Melrose said patting Romes hand. He was heated. His worst fear was to have an out of control rebellious promiscuous daughter. Ryann was his only daughter and he wanted their close trusting bond to always remain strong."I...I....like this boy and...I was scared for anyone to find out so I would just sit in the lunchroom with him so RJ wouldn't know and I was just with him but daddy it's nothing sexual at all I like him but we're just good friends right now."
"If it's nothing then why you sneaking Ry? You know you can talk to me and Melrose about anything."
"He's white daddy and I didn't know how you or anyone would take that."
