We were practing everything. Literally everything. From basics to expert moves. Even our guardians practiced. Even the islanders from our islands participated. Everyone was preparing to battle. Even Masato and Aika are training at this moment.
"Alright. Who's up against me?" I ask, taking a step forward. I notice everyone tense up and try to hide themselves. I mean, I can't be that intimidating.
"M-me." I small voice says. I whip my head to see a little boy standing with a small smile. I nod, gesturing for him to stand in front of me. "Go." Akane signals and the little boy starts sending small fire balls, missing each time.
"Kid, you have to look properly before shooting. You can't expect to be lucky all the time." I lecture, sending a gigantic fire ball to his direction. He was barely able to dodge as he sent a spot on fire ball.
"Ayase! You don't just do that!"
"Do you expect the enemy to spare a kid? Listen, what they're gonna think is that he's weak and easy to defeat. And we can't have that." I shoot back, silencing them with my glare. Jun shuts up and nods, causing me to roll my eyes.
"I'll go p-practice more." The kid says, his shoulders sagging. I slightly felt bad. I pat his shoulders, causing him to look up. "Practice makes perfect, kid." I advice before making him step back into the crowd.
"Alright! I want everybody to practice at least 6 hours a day! And at the end of the week, you'll have to be able to hit me at least once. If you can't, then I suggest you leave the Southern Islands." I demand, my voice icy cold.
Everyone slowly nods, tension present in the air. "Good. Now get practicing." I command as they all obey. I bring Jun, Akane, and Natsuki. "Us four would need harder and more challenging training." I tell them. They looked slightly off guard.
"I don't think you need any more practice. You're good enough to defeat 10 sorcerers in one shot." Natsuki nervously smiled. I shrugged him off, gesturing him to a training course I found.
"Who's first?"
When no one answered, I snickered, stepping up. "Then I'll be first then." I tell them all, jumping into the water. The water has those robotic arms that would hold you underwater for 30 minutes. You'll have to use your powers so that you'll keep your conciousness.
Since I have water powers, I decided to form a bubble and keep some oxygen in. When 30 minutes are up, the robotic arms thrusted me up and sent me flying to some vultures. One of the most deadly animals in the island. Anyone who encounters these birds would surely be eaten to bones.
I used my weapons to hit them off, my air powers helping me greatly. I was floating, missing each and every vulture perfectly. Then I was thrown into a fire whirlwind. This fire doesn't extinguish even if you use water. You have to use nature power for this one, so that's what I did. Then I'm done with 1/3 of the training course.
I stood on the platform, not even a tad bit fazed. "Jun, you're up." I order him and he slowly dives into the water. I could see him struggling, but he's doing alright. Since he has fire and water powers and bit of air and nature, he has a bit of advantagez
After 30 minutes, he looks slightly spaced out but his eyes are still determined. He was thrusted into the air and is barely floating with balance. He was able to fight off the vultures though. He has some scratches but he's fine. Next is the fire whirlwind.
He was looking around, the smoke quickly entering his lungs. But he was able to figure out how to use his powers and got out panting and tired. I sort of smiled. "Good work, Jun. Not too good though." I frown, handing him a bottle of water.
Akane was next. She had water and nature. She did well in the first challenge. But the second one she was having a hard time. She was using her vines to lift her up, but water didn't really faze the vultures.
"Get awau from me! Summoning insects and poisonous bees!" She screams, those tiny allies of hers fighting for her. Soon, she was thrown into the whirlwind.
She starts coughing, slowly falling onto her knees. "You weakling! You're a Princess! Get up!" I shout, slightly annoyed. She glares at me and slowly stood up, using tremendous amounts of nature.
When she completed 1/3 of the course, I gave her a bottle of water. "Good job." I tell her as she smirks. I roll my eyes as she gestures Natsuki to follow after her. Natsuki has the same powers as Jun, so he was able to do good.
"That was hard." They complain.
"That was easy." I argue.
"It isn't."
"Don't worry, we'll be doing the whole course again and again for 6 hours straight the whole week." I assure. Their mouths dropped open as they protested.
"We need it." I remind. They sigh and frown as they kept quiet, resting up before the 2nd part of the course.
