Fresh Start New Duty!

When could I go home? I miss Nao, mom, and also dad! I want to tell them about what happened!

"Hey, when could I go home?" I asked Jun.

"Until your duty is fulfilled, this is your home." Jun said with a laugh.

"Even just a visit will do, just for a short while." I pleaded with him again and again.

"Fine! But whether you like it or not, I need to go with you!" Jun said, finally giving in.

"Yay!" I celebrated, and ran to get my things ready.

"We're leaving tomorrow..." Jun informed me with a sheepish smile.

"Tomorrow?!" I yelled.

"Yes, is there a problem?" Jun asked me.

"I thought we were leaving today!" I said, then I proceeded to beg him again.

"Ayase Natsukawa!" Jun shouted with obvious annoyance.

"Jun Kaminaga." I answered in return.

Was I bothering him too much? I was just excited, but then again, I guess my face didn't show excitement...

"Natsukawa, you're 14 already. Stop nagging!" Jun scolded, then left stomping away to who knows where.

"Sorry, I'll go back to our world, but I'll come back." I said then left.

"Hey, wait! It's too dangerous for you to go alone!" Jun shouted from behind me.

I just missed my family, but I guess I was being pushy. It's not like people will kidnap me just because of my powers... he's just worrying a bit too much.

"Mom! Dad! I'm home!" I called out.

"Ayase! Where were you?" My mom shouted in relief as she inspected me from head to toe repeatedly.

"I-I was just lost in the town, I'm sorry for worrying you." I apologized.

This lie is okay, right? I just need to keep this a secret.

"Nao, your sister is back!" My dad called for Nao.

"A-Ayase! I'm sorry for leaving you alone in the town." Nao hugged me as he apologized repeatedly.

"You left her alone?!" My dad yelled in astonishment.

"Just to buy a book and a shirt?" My mom piped up, and she looked utterly disappointed.

"Mom, dad, I want to go to a country, but it's far away." I straightforwardly told them.

"Sure." My mom easily agreed.

"But first, we have to talk." I said, inviting them into my room.

"Ayase, we already know. When you were young, we were informed that you are the Princess of the North, so be careful, my princess." Mom said with tears in her eyes.

"Thank you." I bowed.

"I'll miss you, Ayase, be sure to come back from time to time." Nao said, tightly hugging me.

Yeah, I'll come back for sure!

"Princess, let's go back!" Jun said.

"Jun?! How did you get here?" I asked.

"I told you I would come with you, whether you like it or not." Jun said, looking annoyed and relieved at the same time.

"Well then, I'll be going!" I said, close to tears.

Well, my life will change for sure! But, it's an honor to fulfill this duty. I'll be useful for once.
