Valarie was nervous the entire day, she new she would have to face Isaac at some point but even with a plan she was still afraid. She didnt see him during the first few lessons but she knew that they had maths together and there was no chance that he was going to be absent, in fact if she went there now she'll find him alone in the empty class. Maybe that's best, she should go see him when no one else was there.
She skipped lunch and went to the class room and a she thought she found Isaac sitting there comfortably, lost in some deep thought. Valarie entered quietly and cautiously and headed straight for her usual seat, ignoring his presence completely. The instant he noticed her his expression changed as he jumped up from his seat and ran to her saying, "Valarie, listen to me, that day, what you saw, it wasn't what it seemed...please listen, it's not how yo think..."
He was talking so fast that Valarie found it hard to cut him off and say, "Look, its none of my business, you don't have to explain. it seriously doesn't matter."
"What..." he was taken aback by what she said and was left speechless.
"Why are you explaining yourself to me if it has nothing to do with me?"
"but i just thought..."
"I really dont care about it." he could tell that she meant that in a bad way, as if they were never friends and she didnt care about anything to do with him.
"so we're okay?"
"Same as ever," she smiled and finally felt comfortable to look at him. That's when she noted that behind his long front locks of hair was a very bad wound, maybe even a scar but she couldnt tell with his hair all over his forehead. "Isaac, what happened to your head?" she said suddenly worried, hoping to get a better look.
"That, it's nothing," he said as he curtained his deep scar by pulling more hair on the way. She hadnt seen the scar when she saw him last. it seemed so permanent and bad but he made sure she couldnt see it. she felt upset again at the fact that he wasnt honest with her. She was now really worried, what was he getting himself into? was he getting into fights?what was it that he hid from her?
