The seasons were changing and school was coming to an end. Finals was only a few months away and due to Ian's distractions she needed to catch up on a lot of school work. She wouldn't give time to studies let alone finish her homework on time. By now she would need some help again.
But Valarie was hesitant to go to Isaac for help. She had been a bit distant from him, she only spoke to him when nessesary. She saw That this was bothering him but he didn't forcefully try to get her attention. He seemed to respect her distance. He was a good person but again Valarie questioned this fact.. .
Every now and then she would find Isaac being nice and kind to people. Only a few days ago she found him in the library helping the librarian set up a bookshelf that some juniors had left messed up.  He would be usually involved in some helpful activity during hiatus free time but for a while now Valarie had been wondering if it had all been an act. Could it be that he purposely acts this way when she's around?
'He was such a good person,' she thought ,'or atleast I think he was. What has happened to him? In fact what has happened to me?! I seem to have completely lost trust in him. I overlook every good deed of his. If only...I wish I had never found him bullying that boy that day. Maybe he made a mistake, maybe he was at the wrong place in the wrong time.  Maybe he had his personal reasons and it was none of my business but. ..I just can't think the same way about him anymore.'
That day in school he was walking along her across the building. He couldn't find the right topic to start a conversation but he tried again,'so how are you're studies going?'
'Fine,' she replied
'You don't come to ask help for chemistry anymore, can you handle it on your own now? What about math.. .I heard the syllabus is going to b tough. Finals are really close you know. '
'I know, I'm just. ..I haven't really been focusing on studies and haven't thought about it, so I guess I don't even know if I'm ready for exams or not. '
'That's unlike you. Well now that I think of it you have changed in the last month ...I mean you seem too busy to study, you're distracted all the time and you have even become quieter and stuff. Why is it? Have you been ...I don't know, involved in something new?'
'I guess.' But she didn't want to tell him about Ian. She was glad that he wasn't pushy, if she didn't want to discuss something he left it at that. Luckily just then a young boy seemed to have tripped and all his things fell. As expected Isaac was the first to rush to help the junior boy.
'Here let me help,' he said as he picked the books and help the boy stand. His leg seemed to be injured. 'What's wrong with your leg? Are you okay?'
'Fine,' the boy said 'I just got injured while playing football'
'Oh so you play football. Are you a first year? What's your name?'
Valarie saw that he was now busy so she walked away saying, 'I'll be late for class so.. .bye!'
That day, after her last class finally ended. She was just leaving the building when she aaw someone she recognized by the gate. It was the nerdy boy that Isaac had beaten! He stood at the gate, probably waiting for his car. She stood next to him thinking that maybe she should talk to him. She pretended to text and wait, while she thought of something to say to him.
'Umm hi,' she finally said, 'I haven't seen you around in school much, do you not study here?'
'Me? Oh no, I just come here for extra classes ...tutions actually. You see the math teacher in my school isn't ...umm, just not a good teacher you know.' He seemed shy as he spoke with slight nervousness.
'Oh yeah our math teacher here is great! I'm not good at math but our teacher really makes it easy.'
'Yes he's good.'
After a moment of silence s he finally mustered the strength to say, 'look I'm sorry about my  friend that day.. .'
'Oh so he was your friend,' now he was even more nervous to talk to her. His tone seemed full of disgust as if he looked down at her.
'Well Yea but he's not a bad guy, I mean I don't know what happened between you two. ..'
'What happened between us was that my presence just made him angry and he tried to beat me. I swear I didn't do or say anything to him! I don't know what makes you think he's a good guy but I suggest you stay away from deceptive people like him!' His voice had risen and it made her feel bad.  'Look I'm sorry, I'm just saying you should know the difference between those who lie and those who are honest and not be friends with those who lie like that. I bet you probably don't even know the truth about him and its not your fault but be careful around guys like him. '
'Okay, but still I'm pretty sure I know him better than you so...he's really not that bad and its none of your business who is or is not my friend. So thanks for the advice but...I also have something to say to you,you seem like I nice guy so I advise you to not act like this in front of anyone again.'
'Okay but I am only like this when I have to be,' he sighed. 'Oh I must go now. ' he said and suddenly headed towards the road.
As he passed by from in front of her, she felt as if for a second she saw a glint of red in his eyes.  She turned to get a better lool at his face but he had already gone far. His eyes weren't red ,she was sure of it. maybe it was just light sparkling off his glasses...
She went home thinking about what that person said to her. She wasn't sure why she defended Isaac when he could have been right about him. She wasn't sure what to believe. Could Isaac really be one of those who lie???

So guys ,time to guess who's right and who's wrong. Who can she trust and who is it that lies? Also the time is almost here...for you to make a choice Isaac or Ian?
