*Louis' POV*
Today is the day that marked 5 years of my second-parents' passing away; Megs' parents. They mean a lot to me because I stayed over at their house a lot more than mine and I love them as if they were my parents and they loved me as if I was their own son.
I can still feel the horrible feeling because I was on the plane, on my way to London to move closer to my parents' job, as soon as the car accident occurred. I asked my parents over and over and over to return to Doncaster to see Megs because she never returned any of my calls, text messages and emails but they always had their excuse that I was too young to travel by myself and they were too busy blah blah blah. I know that I left Megs alone... I will never forgive myself for this. I know how sensitive Megs is about this too so I don't think I will be forgiven but I don't want her forgiveness; I just want us to be how we were before. With sad thoughts, I entered the cemetery through the skilfully decorated entrance that had all sorts of roses around it. I remember how Megs like roses and that afternoon when we were playing 'truth or dare' under our tree house...
--------FLASHBACK 8 YEARS AGO--------
*Louis' POV CONTINUED*
"Megs... What is it that you're keeping from me?" I asked seriously, looking into her chocolate brown eyes. She sighed but she still wouldn't look at me and kept her eyes to the ground. Finally she looked up and stared right into my eyes with fake reassurance plastered across it.
"Ok Lou," she said, "It's just that we've been friends..."
"BEST friends Megs," I cut into her sentence cheekily and her mouth twitched into a tiny smile.
"Ok, we've been BEST friends for like 7 years now," she continued, "so... umm I just have to tell you this because I can't keep it in anymore..."
"Yeah...?" I filled in impatiently because she froze for a while.
"Ok.. Here goes... Louis William Tomlinson... " she said seriously and I was shocked by it because she never called me by my full name and my head is spinning with thoughts of what her next words might be, "...I just have to tell you that... oh my gosh how do I put this carefully?" she said again her eyebrows closed together showing that she is thinking carefully.
"Just say what's on your mind Megs," I said getting anxious by her words.
"Alright, Lou... don't get mad at me but I think that..."
"... YOU SMELL LIKE A LOO LOU!!!" she said cracking up.
*Louis' POV*
I stared at her confused at first then I realised that she was playing a prank on me. Typical Megs. I put on my 'pretend' shock face then went to hug her mockingly saying, "Ok then you can inhale my wonderful 'loo' MEGGIE!" calling her by the name that we used to call each other when we were 6. She squealed and ran around the garden hiding behind the rose bushes. I chased her all around the huge backyard with my arms open and yelling 'FREE HUGS!!!'
I finally caught her from behind and hugged her tight while she yelled, "Eww!! Help me!! The smelly monster has captured me!"
"I will never let you go Megs," I whispered into her ears while leaning onto her tiny shoulders from behind, still hugging her and slowly calming her down. She looked up at me with her eyes gleaming. "Promise me Loubear, that you will always be here with me."
"I promise", I said connecting my pinkie to her in a 'pinkie promise' position, "that I will always be with you Megs." Then I let go of her body softly and turned her to face me.
"I want to do something, sit down, close your eyes and count to 20," I said, excited.
"Alright Lou..." she giggled and sat down, doing exactly what I told her to.
I ran straight to the rose bushes and picked five most beautiful and colourful roses and put them together in a bunch.
I yelled out to her while putting on my final touches, "Don't peek Megs!!"
I ran back to her and sat in front of her, holding the bunch of roses, trying to cover my face with it and said, "Ok, now open your eyes."
She fluttered her eyes open, probably only seeing the bunch of roses in front of her, and gasped, "Oh My Gosh... These are beautiful Lou! Thank you!!"
I smiled sassily and replied, "It's ok Megs...at least these smell better than me!"
She laughed the loudest I've ever heard her laugh and after catching her breath she said, "No Lou...I was just joking but you're right! These do smell better!"
I pouted and she kissed my forehead softly. That action alone made my stomach do cartwheels and I don't even know why.
She whispered afterwards, "They are my favourite flowers Lou and they might smell better but they will never better than you, my one and only favourite person and most of all...my BEST friend!"
--------BACK TO PRESENT--------
*Louis' POV CONTINUED*
That memory brought tears back to my eyes, knowing that I can never have any more moments with her like that. I entered the cemetery and saw a shadowy figure standing by Michael and Lisa's gravestone. As I stepped closer, I realised that it was a female figure, who looked very similar to Megs. Even though I haven't seen her for 5 years... I can recognise her shoulder-length coffee brown hair and her tiny slim body easily.
I walked up to her slowly and called out softly, "Megs?"
