"DUDE WAKE UP!"
Colin is awaken by Casey. Over in the corner was Tom. Tom was his high school friend and he was still sleeping in the corner of the warehouse. The warehouse had been built up from the ground up and the area had be cleared after the events of 2016. It wasn't this way when they found it actually. It used to be a car inspection lot. The place had looked so much more different then when they first came. Not to mention it was their second home in a year since they were ran out of the first one. It had been a year and a half since the beginning of it all.
Realizing he was just having a flashback to the pre-event years again he stretched and got up. The swarms didn't break through the layers of metal and gates yet. But they didn't even try, even though they saw these kids sleeping inside of the place since they had a lantern. It was like when someone wants to kill someone, but they need them alive for information.
"Was there anything banging on the gates last night?" Colin asks to anyone listening
"Tom is gonna sleep in again, he took a whole shift instead of half. I told him to wake you up but he refused." Casey said, yawning and still trying her best to get up. "He said he saw someone taken in by a swarm but nothing else."
Colin titled his head and looked outside. "I thought people were smarter then those...things."
"It was a middle aged man too. He shot one of them and they all pounced on him." Tom states as he leans up.
"Tom, you were up all night watching, you need to sleep before you start hallucinating again." Casey demands.
"You act just like my mother, and I don't miss her at all" Tom says, sighing and laying back down.
Tom never really had a good life, his parents were always abusive toward him. He would be constantly beat by his father. Even his ex girlfriend had made some poor choices, and it made him upset.
When the swarm and the disappearance began, he survived and so did his girlfriend, she wanted him to go out west toward Chicago to see if her family was still there. But he told her to have fun and let her go on her own and now she's most likely dead or turned into one of them.
I still remember what happened the day it all started...
