Chapter 3

"I'm coming over!" Mark said.
Before I could respond, he had hung up.
Someone knocked on the door.
I opened it to see Zach.
He came in and I shut the door.
"What happened?" He asked.
Toni answered that for him.
Then Mark banged on the door.
"Open up." He said.
"No." I said.
"Open this door!" He demanded.
"Why? So you can ruin my fun again?! You buzzkill!" I exclaimed.
"Who's in there?' He asked.
"Me, Toni, Adria, and Zach." I said.
"OPEN THE DOOR!" He yelled.
"MAKE ME!" I yelled back.
He ripped the door off its hinges.
"Don't forget, I have super strength." He said.
"Why do you always do this?!" I yelled.
"Do what?" He asked.
"YOU CHECK ON ME EVERY FUCKING FIVE SECONDS!" I yelled.
"MAYBE IF YOU STAY IN OUR DORM, I WOULDN'T WORRY!" He yelled back.
"IM A SUPERHERO FOR GODS SAKE! I DON'T NEED YOU!" I screamed.
"You might be able to protect yourself from danger, but even if we are superheroes, we can't protect ourselves from our emotions." He said.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!" I yelled.
I ran out of the room, leaving my friends in shock.
I ran outside to the garden and sat on the edge of the fountain.
It was freezing out, but I didn't care.
He always ruins my fun. I don't care what he does! Why can't he leave me alone. I need my privacy!
I heard footsteps from behind.
I turned around and saw Mark.
"Leave me alone." I said.
"We need to talk sis." He said.
"There's nothing to talk about! You ruin everything for me. I don't go calling you every five seconds when you leave me! Learn to except that I'm a superhero just like you. You can't always "save" me. I can take care of myself. I just need you to stay away from me." I said.
He looked hurt by this.
"Please listen." He said.
"I need my privacy." I said and I decided to fly to my favorite hiding spot that no one knows about.
It's my fathers old home.
It made up of crystals.
I think it's so beautiful.
I go there to think and cool down.
Not even my father knows that I come here. He always told us that we were to never go to this place, but I couldn't resist. So I just never told a soul.
I hate fighting with my brother, but he crossed the line. Life as a superhero isn't as great as people think.
"Emily!" Someone called.
I spun around.
It was Allison.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"I saw what happened so I decided to follow you." She said.
"You're not supposed to be here." I said.
"I know. But I just want to know what's wrong." She said.
"I need you and your phoniness to leave." I said.
"What?!" She exclaimed.
"You completely ditched us for Zach! We were your best friends! But obviously you didn't think so! So when you got the opportunity, you just left!" I snapped.
"Em! I'm only trying to be a good friend." She said.
"Please! You were nothing but mean to us after that! You would constantly give us looks and talk about us. You also sent Adria to the principals office for something YOU did. Just go and don't speak a word about this place to anyone." I said.
She left.
I can't be around people right now.
I roamed the platform for a while. It's so nice here. It always calms me. After a while I flew back to the Academy and saw that the door was back in its place.
"Emily." Mr. Young sternly said.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Is everything alright?" He asked.
"Yep." I said relieved that I wasn't in trouble.
"Are you sure. Your brother came to me and told me what happened." He said.
"No. I'm fine. Really." I said.
"Then go back to your dorm then and get some rest. You've had a long day." He said.
"Yes sir." I said.
I walked back to my room.
I stalled as I opened the door.
I was hesitant about seeing Mark.
I stepped in and turned on the lights.

I met a cat
He lived in a log
He was wearing a hat
And I saw him in the fog
