Chapter 23

||Zach's P.O.V||
I go over to help Emily and Mark after I defeated my component.

Emily comes up to meet me.

"Hurry! He's getting to be too much!" She exclaimed.

We both hear Mark yell, "EMILY WATCH OUT!"

I saw Lex shoot something at her, but I couldn't quite make out what it was.

Emily them let out such a scream. Then she went down.

"EMILY!" I yelled in panic.

Of course, I went after her falling body.

She lay limp and motionless on the ground.

I knelt down next to her wound and touched it.

She winced.

"You're going to be okay." I said.

She slowly reach her hand to my face.

"No. It's kryptonite. I won't make it." She whispered.

"Don't leave Emily. You need to stay with me!" I exclaimed. "I still love you!"

"I still love you too." She managed to whisper.

Then her eyes shut and her breathing became steady. She blacked out.

I looked around at the scene and knew I couldn't get anyone to help. We were winning, but it would be too risky to get help from everyone.

I scooped her up and raced into where our parents are being held.

I gently laid her down and frantically looked around. Then I saw a key on the floor.

I grabbed it, then went over to Superman's cage and unlocked it. He was able to get out and recover very quickly.

"We need to do something!" I exclaimed as he laid eyes on his daughter.

"I'll take care of her. You go fight." He said.

"I can't leave her. She means too much to me!" I said.

He looked at me dead in the eyes.

"Do you love her?" He asked me.

"Yes!" I said.

"Then go fight for her." He said "The sooner you win the sooner she can get medical help."

I nodded and gave Emily one last look before going out and helping the others.

||Superman's P.O.V||
I looked down at my daughter as she lay lifeless on the table. I have to do something.

I frantically looked around for something. There was literally nothing.

I sighed and looked at the others. I quickly grabbed the key and freed them all.

"We need to help her!" I exclaimed.

"I got her!" Iron Man said. "Me and you will take her as the rest protect us. Got it?"

Everyone agreed and we were off.

We flew over the fighting and everyone saw us. The rest protected us from anyone who tried to stop us.

We finally got to help and everyone was asked to leave but me.

They took her into a hospital room and I waited outside of the room.

She needs to be alright.

||Zach's P.O.V||
I looked above as I was helping Mark and saw Emily being taken to get help.

I sighed knowing I can't follow.

I kept fighting until it was down to us against Lex. Easy.

With little time we won. It's all over. No more villains for now.

I quickly went in the direction Emily was taken without saying a single word to anyone.

When I got there, the doctors told me I couldn't see her because she's in critical condition.

I waited in the lobby for what seemed like hours. Finally a doctor came in and told me I was able to see her.

I walked into the room and she was laying there sleeping.

"She's still not stable. Don't stress her out when she wakes up." The nurse said.

I nodded and sat on the chair next to her bed.

He took her hand in mine and her eyes fluttered open. She slowly turned her head to face me.

"You made it!" She exclaimed in a low voice.

"I wouldn't just leave you." I said.

She smiled.

Then suddenly she winced.

"Are you okay?" I asked ready to call the nurse.

"It hurts." She said.

I lifted the blanket and saw a wound stitched together. They must've taken out the kryptonite.

I realized that this is what made me realize I was wrong. Almost losing her. Now I know that I can't stand being without her. So I did something crazy...

"Emily?" I asked.

"Hmm?" She hummed.

"I promise that one day, you will be mine. We won't have to face villains anymore because we won. We can live in the human world and retire a superheroes and get married. Just, once were old enough." I said.

She smiled again.

"I'd really like that."

7 years later
||Emily's P.O.V||
Zach kept his promise. We got married and settled into the human world where we no longer have powers. For safety reasons we though it would be better to change our last name to Williams and my brother is the only one still training. The others actually married each other. Simon and Tabitha are engaged, Adria and Travis are married and Toni turned out marrying a human.

I couldn't ask for anything more.
