As I led my siblings into the guild hall I heard someone running up behind me.
"Luna!" I turned around to see Rosemary standing there.
"What's up Rose?"
"Didn't you hear? Our..." just then she was interrupted.
"Where are your parents?" He looked down at me. Rose moved away a bit as he moved closer. He seem unfased by my both suprised and shocked face. Of course Master Laxus had never been one to smile or even show human emotion. Over his shoulder I could Mirajane pacing in front of an open door. She looked worried.
"Um... they'll be here soon. They were right behind us..." They could not have entered at a better time.
"Natsu. Lucy." His voice was stern. My parents looked at each other like they knew what was going on. I could tell they were concerned. Instead of showing it my father smiled, grabbed my mother's hand and headed for the open door past Mirajane. I looked at Rosemary. She waited for the master to shut the door to the room.
"Master summoned our parents for an important meeting." She said. I saw her gaze move over to Hikari, who was sitting on the stairs to the upper level of the guild. She was no doubt miffed at the fact she was not invited to this secret meeting. Rosemary must have seen the look in my eyes because she started to lecture me on how we were told not to enter the room and the importance on listening to the master. But it was too late I was already gone.
There were no windows to the secret room. In fact I had never been in there. I had no idea where it went. So I ran around until I found a spot on the upper level above the the room. I tried to peer through the cracks of the floorboards but it was no good. Even as I pressed my ear to the floor I could barely hear a thing. It seemed to me that they were getting quieter and quieter, as if they were moving further away.
I ran back down the stairs, thinking maybe I would could hear them through the walls. However I ran into a slight problem coming down the stairs. Hikari. She put her arm out just as I had come down one of the last few steps and I face planted on the hardwood.
"You got a problem Hikari?"
"None at all." She stared down at her feet and smirked.
"Oh, well in that case you won't mind apologizing now, will you?"
"Excuse me? Apologize... me? What for? You've never looked better than right then; when your face was smashed into the hardwood floor."
"Are you looking for a fight? Because I think you just found one." I got up and started to walk up to her. She stood up and lifted her head. You could see her smirk more clearly now. Electricity flowed all around her as she clenched her fists. She didn't move, not even one inch. I came at her with fire burning from my hands but she moved and I tripped...again.
"Maybe if you weren't so hot headed you'd understand that you can't just run into a fight. Also you realize there is probably a spell on the room preventing anyone from entering or hearing anything, right?" To be honest until she had stated it I hadn't really thought about it. It made sense, they are extremely powerful and whatever they were talking about they really didn't want anyone to know. Hikari started to walk away.
"Oh, I'm not done with you yet!" Thinking back on it I probably should have left it alone. Hikari rolled her eyes and snapped her fingers. I could feel her electricity run through me against my bones and just like that the fight was over. Hikari walked past my lifeless body, and left the guild. Just then I heard a familiar voice.
"What you doing down there fireball?" He leaned down over me, with his hair falling in his face. His blue eyes staring at me.
"Try not to look so smug."I sat up and he sat down next to me.
"You'll get it next time." He winked.
"Excuse me?" He sectioned off a small portion of my hair and brought it to my attention. It was singed. "She snuck up on me. It was a cheap shot."
"Wait you got this from Hikari." He started to laugh hysterically.
"What's so funny?"
"I thought you did this to yourself but you attempted to fight Hikari. Which is hilarious."
"I'm just as good as she is! One day I'll take her down just as well as I can take you down."
"Oh, so you mean right now. Cause you can't take down either of us."
"You wanna bet ice guy?" Ice guy... really? I'm also regretting that now. I'm sure I can come up with better nicknames. Ice breath... no. Cold head...no. Cool guy... no. Slanty eyes... ehh.
"Cool off hot head, I've got more important things to do." Just like that he stood up and started to walk away.
"Aren't you the least bit interested in what they are talking about?" I yelled at him. He stopped in his tracks.
"It's none of our business. Now is it?" He continued to walk away. Once he had made it around the corner. I huffed and crossed my arms. I sat there and thought about what he said. It's totally our business... well its our parents. Our parents business are our business... or is it the other way around? I just had to know why I wasn't allowed to know.
