I traveled down the tunnels for quite some time. The only light being the fire in my hands. The area around me was most likely only ever lit by the magic of the master, and we were likely to be the first ever non s class wizards to enter these tunnels. Eventually the tunnel split off into five different directions. Taking the one second to the left I found myself in a large room. The ceiling was curved like a bowl. All of a sudden I heard a noise. It was almost like a pebble falling and hitting the ground. Which with the circumstances up above it would have been no supprise if the whole ceiling above caved in. However there was a familiar sent in the room. The troubling thing was that I couldn't make out who's it was. The room was mostly empty besides the pillars and artifacts that took up the space in the little room. I stepped lightly following the sent. Following the curve of the wall I eventually saw the misformed shadow of someone hiding behind a pillar. Being the person I am, which is less hot headed than my father... sometimes. I moved slowly to get the advantage. Although the thought never occurred to me until now that with the fact that they were hiding and not confronting me they were most likely not the enemy. Eh, anyway, as snuck toward the pillar the shadow seemed grow. Not thinking I jumped out at the shadowy figure ready to attack. Quickly reacting to my "attack" the figure used her magic to do one of the quickest magic attacks I had ever seen, and that's saying something as I have seen her mother in battle and trust me when I say the Erza Scarlett, Tatiana, queen of the faries was and is no slow poke. With that being said, Rose flung her wepons at me in great speed, sending me flying toward the wall. Luckily I have my father's reaction time and before I hit the wall I landed myself on ground. My two feet skid across the floor, leaning forward I centered my balance and as my hand grazed the ground I used it as an extra support.
"Rose!" I yelled excitedly. She looked terrified. As fast as her reaction was her body wasn't stable, her hands were shaking. As she stood there staring at me tears began to well up in her eyes. Rosemary had always seemed strong like her mother, but in this moment her world, our world, our family, our home was crumbling. "Man that hurt" I said grabbing my shoulder and trying to put it back in place. I staggered toward her stumbling over my feet. Rose wiped the tears from her eyes and ran over to me. She helped me over to where she was before. Walking around the pillar I saw Sylvia propped up against one of the artifacts. Seeing her lifeless body laying there I knew we had to find Layla. "We need to find the others." Rose nodded and began to pick up Sylvia. "No, it's ok I'll carry her."
Throwing Sylvia on my back we continued through the tunnels.
"How far do you think we are from an exit?" Rose said.
"I'm not really sure where they let out. For all we know it may lead to several different locations and we've just missed all the exits. The goal now is to find our friends." Their smell had faded, it seemed impossible, as if we would never see them again. But we needed to, we needed to find Layla she was the only one who could help Sylvia. Plus I needed to know that she and Kaen were safe. But we all went in different directions. How would we all meet up? Where was somewhere safe we all would know to meet up at? The town was most likely in shambles and who knows who could be waiting at my house. I mean my father is great but he's not always the best at making friends and we have no idea what their goal in attacking us was.
However there was a place in the woods, a little cottage like building in an open meadow. It was my father's old place. As kids we would play there pretending to be S Class wizards or monsters destroying the town. Looking back on it at I guess at that age we didn't understand that the real monsters that destroy towns were wizards. Since then it was probably forgotten but with how many times we'd traveled there we would all know the way. My only hope was that everyone had the same thought that I did.
Walking down the tunnels we were cautious as if from around every corner were someone who would jump out and attack us. Rose followed close behind me. Every once in awhile she would offer to take turns carrying Sylvia but I knew we would both need our strength for whatever came next so I declined every time. Eventually we came to a two way path.
"Which one do we choose?" Rose looked up at me. I was responsible for my siblings, this I knew, but now I was responsible for Rose as well and not just her, Sylvia too. I stared down both halls for a while before something caught my attention. A spark.
"We go down the tunnel to the right."
An electric marble like the one before lay on the ground of the tunnel. I ran down the tunnel toward the marble. Rose followed closely. She leaned down and picked up the marble. "Come on the lacrima can't be too far." Surely enough I was right. After walking in the dark for a bit longer we with no where else to go we entered a room with a huge lacrima sitting right in the middle."Wow..." Rose's jaw dropped.
"Wow is right." I walked up to it and took a moment to put my head on straight. I was going to them out of there, out of this mess. I was going to find my siblings. No matter what. I turned to Rose. "Are you ready" She nodded. I looked at the marble in my hand and then smashed it into the giant lacrima. The lightning surged through it and just as it seemed as if we would never make it out a light showed though the ceiling.
