I dare to look at thee with love and care
Within us lies the truth we cannot speak
The ways wit are treated are deamed unfair
For thine ways might be innocent and meek
Wit hide from the world our little unseen
I long to tell thee what is on my mind
Tak'st thy time as it eats away at me
Remember us as we were unrefined
Must you keep feelings imprisoned away
Just tell me the truth, do not tell a soul
I promise to hold you near, not betray
If thou art willing to atone the toll
Beauty does not only remain within
Without the balance held, the ice is thin
____________
My first sonnet. It turned out better than I thought, but not as good as Shakespeare.
by the way... "wit" is the early modern english way to say "we," as in the two of us
