Chapter 14

well here's chapter 14! sorry it took a couple of days, ive had a lot going on. im gonna try to upload before Thursday, cause if i dont you wont be hearing from me till at least Monday. im going to the beach with my youth group lol :) sooooo hopefully i get the next chapter written and edited before then! only 2 more weeks left of summer for me :( that means back to school, drama, and other stupid things :( ANYWAYS! enough of my rambling :) heres chapter 14. "God he looks awful!" Ri yelled as we walked into the room where Zack was staying for the next few days.

"I told you it wasn't going to be a pretty recovery process. He's going to be in a lot of pain and look pretty bad for the next few weeks." Dr. Rameriez said.

"I'm awake you know." Zack said groggily letting us know he could hear us talking about him. I could tell he was tired and in pain.

"How are you feeling?" Dr. Rameriez asked.

"Not gonna lie, I've been better." He said. He really did look terrible. His face was blue and purple and swollen to the point that it didn't look like him. One of his eyes wouldnt open because it was so swollen. He had cuts and scrapes all over him, and he was connected to all kinds of wires and machines. It was really depressing to see, but at least he was alive. "But hey! I'm alive right?" he said and started coughing. I felt awful. This had happened because of me. And while he was alive and that was amazing, he was suffering on my behalf.

"Right! That's the way to look at it!" Dr. Rameriez said with a smile. "Okay so for the next two weeks you'll have nurses in here every four hours taking vitals and giving you meds to help with the pain. After three days we'll see how your doing and if all is well and there's no complications we might be able to shorten your time here a bit. Now where is it you said you lived?" He said.

"In Maryland." I replied.

"What are you five doing in Florida? So far from home!" He said. Apparently people don't come to Florida on vacation very often. Which is somewhat surprising seeing as Disney was here and all.

"Our bands on tour, we stopped here for a concert, and went out after. We never expected this to happen." Jack said flatly. I knew he blamed himself as much as I blamed myself. He thought if he wasn't drunk he would've been able to save Zack in time. Obviously he couldn't take his own advise. I took his hand in mine and gave it a squeeze letting him know I was here for him this time instead of the other way around like it usually was. I was gonna be strong this time and put aside my problems for him like he always did for me.

"I thought you guys looked familiar! All Time Low right? My daughter loves you guys!" Dr. Ramirez said smiling. How he could be happy right now I didn't understand. "You'll be getting home by bus then I'm assuming?" we all nodded. "Well then you'll have to be extremely careful not to tear anything or do anything too reckless." he said putting emphasis on extremely.

"That's awesome!" Alex said trying to sound excited. "Your daughter being a fan and all." He was holding back tears and I could tell. No one but me had ever seen him cry, and I'd only seen it twice. Once when he broke his arm, and the other after our other brother died. He held it in for the longest time in front of the guys, pretending he was fine. But it killed him inside and I could see it. I told him he needed to talk to someone about it or it'd end up driving him to insanity. He broke down in front of me, and ever since then we've been closer than ever.
