Three years have gone by and this is what happened in a nut shell. So my father was caught trying to break into our house and got arrested. My mom pressed charges against him and he is now in jail for life. Jared found a woman to love him and Bliss. They got married and are expecting a baby. Yea that guy works fast. Chris ended up dating Cecil and they’re still dating to this day. I went to all of Bliss’ birthdays and she asked every single one of them where Sapphire was. Jared and I didn’t have the nerve to tell her that Sapphire left. Me? Well I never did fall in love again but I did go to college and get my degree in teaching. I decided to teach Mythology and although I’m one of the youngest teachers at 21 I could care less. Sapphire used to keep in touch but she doesn’t anymore. Last I heard from her she was in California with a very nice family that was treating her well. What about my mother and Tony? Well today is their wedding day. I’m the best man and I don’t have a girl to walk down the aisle. As I’m getting ready Tony come’s in smiling like an idiot which obviously means he’s hiding something. I glare at him. I’ve been doing that a lot lately and Jared has noticed. Chris tried taking me to a club and try to pick some girls up. It didn’t help not one bit. Obviously I was still stuck on Sapphire. Tony clears his throat and I snap back into reality looking to where he was looking. I didn’t know who it was at first but when she turned around my heart stopped and I couldn’t believe it. It was Sapphire! She waves and smooth’s out the little wrinkles in her dress. The light purple of the dress made her tan come out and her bright blue eyes shine even more. It even made her hair look blonder. She walks up to me and smiles. God I’ve missed that smile and I loved seeing it. I pull her in for a hug and make her look up at me. She still had the same pouty lips that she had when she left and the same everything.
“I’ve missed you Sapphire how is everything? Are you still cutting, drinking, smoking and all the other stuff?” I ask suddenly wanting to know everything about her. She answers all my questions. I learned that she’s eating again, she stopped the cutting, she’s taking classes for the drinking, and finally she stopped smoking cold turkey. I hug her again just wanting to feel her against me. She tells me about her family in Cali and how they were treating her as if she was already part of the family. I smile and tell her that Bliss missed her and kept asking for her, I tell her I became a teacher and that I love her. She kisses me and keeps holding on to me while kissing. She must’ve gained some confidence in Cali because she took control of that kiss like it was no problem. We pull back from each other and stare at each other until Tony clears his throat. We get ready to walk down the aisle, Sapphire kisses my cheek then goes to sit with Jared and Bliss. Since my grandfather was dead I decided to give my mother away at the altar. During the ceremony I couldn’t take my eyes off of Sapphire who was playing with Bliss in the front row. Jared didn’t seem to mind and neither did Bliss’ new mom. I clap as Tony kisses my mom and I hug my new dad. I didn’t mind him as my father and he didn’t mind me as a son. We head over to the reception and see Sapphire talking to Cecil and Chris. I go over and wrap my arm around her waist as if nothing had ever changed. As a slow song comes on the dance floor I take Sapphire onto the balcony and dance with her out here. Jared gave me a ring earlier in the evening and he knew what I wanted to use it for. Before she can say anything I kiss her feeling her sweet lips on mine. I pull back quickly and she looks confused but I just smile and look at her with some much love and passion in my eyes it’s pretty obvious what was going to happen.
“Sapphire we’ve been through a lot together and I can’t take it if you leave again. I was in love with you ever since you didn’t deal with any of the stuff I pulled so I want to ask you the one thing that will make my life complete and make me the happiest man alive” I get down on one knee and look up at her. She smiles brightly and I see tears of joy in her eyes, “Sapphire Johnson will you marry me and live happily ever after with me?” She crushes her lips to mine and when she pulls back I could see that she’s crying. She nods and I place the ring on her finger. I pick her up and spin her around. We hear a clap of thunder and we both look up as rain starts to fall. We both laugh and kiss each other like never before. Hey maybe rain isn’t so bad after all. I could learn to like it if all the storms were like this. Yeah I really do love the rain.
