"Alright, I'm all set," I said as I carried my handbag and walked out of my room. "Is the car ready?"
"Yes, Miss," Natalia, my assistant said as she walked beside me towards the driveway. She had her phone always stuck to her hand and I almost felt bad that she always had to be fixing my schedule.
Her phone rang and like a buzz of lightning, she had it on her ear. Yep, she is very serious about her job.
"Ma'am--," she started but remembered our agreement that she'll only call me Winter or Miss. "I mean, Miss, Miss Cassandra just arrived."
"Oh? God, I completely forgot. Alright, why don't you wait for me in the car and I'll just talk to her for a bit," I said, rubbing my fingers on my temple.
"Right then, Miss," she said and scurried away.
"Ah! How much time do we have left before we're late... again?" I asked.
"There's still time, Miss," she answered.
"Ok," I said and walked towards Cassie's room.
My phone rang as I was running up the stairs, grasping my heels with my hands because I ain't running all around in these monsters.
"Oh bloody hell," I said as I struggled to fish my phone out of my handbag, run up the stairs and hold on to my heels.
"Hello?" I said.
"Hey, where are you?" Cassie said.
"I'm just a few meters from your room actually," I answered.
"What? But I'm downstairs," she said. "What the bloody hell are you doing up there?"
"Natalia said you were here so I assumed you were upstairs," I replied as I made my way downstairs. I feel like fainting. I just ran probably a mile here and now I have to go down again. Okay, okay, I'm exaggerating.
"Yeah, you should really give your assistant a spa break or something. She looks like she's about to explode from overworking herself," Cassie said. "Oh and oops looks like she was behind me all this time. Hello, Natalia."
I could hear Natalia chuckle and greet Cassie back.
"Yes, I believe I do need a break from work," I heard Natalia say as I approached them.
"Yes you do," I said and wore my heels again.
"Not that I'm saying that working for you is bad, Miss," she said nervously.
"Loosen up, Natalia. I was only joking," I said as I laughed.
"Ohhh, look who's talking about loosening up," Cassie commented.
"Shut up," I said and rolled my eyes at her. "Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I won't be back till later today. I have a meeting with the Prime Minister which I'm probably late to now."
"That's alright, he can't kill the Princess for being late anyway," she joked.
"Ha ha, very funny. I've been late to most of my meetings this week and I was really hoping to be on time for this one but I think I really can't be," I said with a grin.
