I woke up to the sound of a beeping alarm clock. I blindly reached for it and threw it somewhere. Stupid alarm clock, it's too early for me to get up. I sighed as the beeping stopped with a loud crash. There, perfect. I snuggled inside the sheets that smelled like faint mint and it soothed my mind. I sighed once more and reached for a pillow. I hugged it and it was surprisingly warm. I yawned and opened my eyes to see a smirking face.
"I could wake up to this everyday," Nate said and I immediately scrambled off the bed, going over him and landing on the hard wood floor.
"Ow," I said as I lay down on the floor.
He just laughed and helped me up.
"Remind me to not let you near my alarm clock," he said and grabbed my arms and pulled me up.
"Sorry," I said with a shy smile and brushed my backside.
"That's cute," Nate said and walked towards the door.
"What? I landed on my butt okay?" I said and stormed after him.
He led me toward the kitchen where he opened the fridge and tossed me an apple.
"Eat. You were drunk last night and you'll get sick if you don't," he said and washed his apple.
I bit on my apple and he looked at me with disgust.
"What?" I asked and he just rolled his eyes and chuckled. "So... what are we doing today?"
"What makes you think we're doing anything?" he asked with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Because there's no way I'm going home today," I said and bit my apple again.
He rolled his eyes again and said, "Fine but let's eat breakfast first."
"Sure! What are we cooking?" I asked and got off the high chair.
"What do you mean what are we cooking? We're going out," he said. "Come on."
He ran up the stair with me breathing heavily as I staggered to keep up with his pace. Wow, being an athlete really has its perks. I should really take the cheerleading training seriously. When he probably realized that I hadn't reached his room, he peered from the door and laughed.
"Come on slowpoke!" he shouted.
"Okay! Alright!"
I got ready and then realized that I didn't have clean clothes. I got out of the bathroom with a bathrobe wrapped around me.
"Hey Nate, I don't have clothes," I said.
Nate seemed to stop for a moment and then blinked. "Oh right. I'll look for something you could wear."
He came back with a Beatles shirt and a pair of shorts.
"Where did you get these?" I asked him curiously. If this was one of his ex-girlfriends' clothes, I would definitely not wear them.
"My mom's untouched shorts and my small shirt," he said with a shrug.
"Oh," I said. "Thanks."
Breakfast was great. We ordered a pancake tower with some bacon on the side and we just talked about random things every now and then.
"So, where are we going now?" he asked.
"Let's go to the car and drive around!" I said and put my hands up high and let out a laugh.
