I woke up with a warm soft thing draped all over me and I sighed in content. I can definitely wake up everyday like this. I didn't want to open my eyes yet since I was taking precious time enjoying the warm pillow I was lying on. Wait. Pillow?I slowly opened my eyes and saw a mop of brown hair and a sleeping face. I lifted my head from his shoulders and stared at his peaceful expression. He's sleeping so I guess... it wouldn't be bad to stare at him for a few more minutes. His breath was even and slow and his long lashes were fanning over his cheeks. A lock of his brown hair was over his closed eyes and I reached for it and tucked it carefully, not wanting for him to wake up.
I've never really looked at Nate Brooks for this long and now I can see what the other girls were talking about. But I didn't agree with them. He wasn't handsome. The word for him is beautiful. I stared at him for a few more minutes then settled my head on his shoulder once again. I was about to close my eyes when I realized something.
His phone. I grabbed the blanket that's draped over me. This was my chance to retrieve his phone and delete my picture. So I reached over him and stealthly reached my hand into his pocket when...
"Don't even think about it," he muttered and I jumped.
"Shit!" I said and put a hand over my fast-beating heart. "You scared me."
"And you creeped me out," he said. "You were staring at me for how many goddamned seconds."
"What are you talking about?" I denied, warmth creeping to my cheeks. Stupid blush. "I wasn't staring at you."
"You were," he said with a smirk. "I could feel your breath on my cheeks, munchkin."
"I-- I wasn't," I defended.
"Sure," he dropped the topic. "Come on, let's go back to sleep."
"I'm not sleepy anymore," I lied and was about to turn on the television when his hand grabbed my wrist.
"You're sleepy," he insisted. "I can tell. Now stop being stubborn."
I stared back at his beautiful brown eyes and I felt myself nod. I placed my head stiffly on his shoulders once more.
"Relax," he whispered.
I tried to breathe evenly and found myself relaxing.
"I like when you stare at me," he said softly as he placed his head on mine once again. "So don't be embarassed."
I blushed at that and confusion surrounded me. He's making me confused. But I let it go and welcomed sleep.

I was woken up by Nate frantically shaking me.
"Winter," he said softly but I could tell from the way his voice shook that he was panicking.
I lifted my head over his shoulder and looked at him. I could vaguely notice the wet part of his clothes and when I touched my cheeks, I realized that I had been crying.
He looked at me with worry in his brown eyes and I stared back.
"You were crying for about 3 minutes," he said.
"I didn't notice," I said truthfully.
"What were you dreaming about?" he asked.
"I... I forgot," I said. I' rarely have dreams that I could remember once I wake up and this testifies that. "I don't really remember what I dreamed about."
