Dylan's P.O.V...
God! Seeing those two make out AGAIN is not something I want to see everyday, I mean, am I gonna walk in a room and see them kissing like mad everyday? I sighed loudly as I close the door to Jude's room behind me, jumping down the stairs and skipping the last three steps. My body flying over them, soaring straight towards the backdoor. My shoulder connected with the doorframe but I ignored the pain as I searched around the back porch for my paints, jeez I have a nonexistent memory sometimes.
I finally spotted my paints where Jude had said they would be, resting on the picnic table near the big oak tree I squealed happily and ran over to my paints. Now I can finish the painting I was working on all week, whoohoo! Grabbing my paints, I stuffed them in my back pockets, then I turned to walk back inside to my art studio (a.k.a. my room) when my eyes strayed to the oak tree.
I had so many memories hidden in that tree, one of them was my best friend Darrington Black the person the painting I was working on was for, he used to live next door and wasn't the most liked person in the neighborhood. My mind suddenly drifted towards the past, to the day I met Darrington for the first time and how not only my life but our friendship blossomed into something good.
How could Melinna LIE to me like that!? How could she act like our years of friendship was nothing after being welcomed into the arms of the jerky popular kids! All those years of secrets, sleepovers, jokes, friendship wasted in one day, why did this have to happen to me? I fumed walking around the house and through the fence door into the backyard, I needed to clear my head from all this drama. Slowly I walked toward my favorite tree, it was a big oak tree that's been in my family's backyard for as long as I can remember.
Usually there were birds, or squirrels or even the regular cat but today when I looked up I saw a boy sitting on a branch up in the tree. It was Darrington Black, the neighborhood loner/bad boy he lived right next door and never bothered with the law or rules he seemed to drift in and out and it seemed today he drifted into my backyard.
He wore a black hoodie over a black Asking Alexandria t-shirt, he wore black skinny jeans a chain clipped onto the side, he also had a silver chain around his neck, his black hair moved as a breeze blew by and he was nibbling on one of his snakebites. Darrington was what many people would call emo, with the dyed black hair, wearing a lot of dark colored clothing, wearing his favorite white snakebites, and having his right ear pierced.
He was a loner and never seemed to like company, no one liked him around them not even his own parents, there had been rumors spreading around that he was in a gang or that he had done some illegal things. But I didn't threaten him out because the way he stared out towards the sky, his eyes far away and his attention somewhere else, my 13 year old mind told me this wasn't what a criminal would normally do.
I stood there craning my neck up and stared at him, he looked so innocent not so much as scary and dangerous but more lost almost sad, it seemed he had finally seemed to notice my presence when he looked down at me and said.
"Want to sit with me?"
I jumped slightly and thought, why not? He didn't seem to want to kill me so what was wrong with sitting with him. Ignoring the little voice in the back of my head telling me to SEE what I was doing, going to sit next to a could be criminal. I nodded silently grabbing a hold of the tree and pulling myself up, he held out a hand gesturing me to grab it so he can pull me up, I reached out and held onto his hand tightly and pulled myself upward. Settling down beside Darrington, our bodies just inches apart from each other he still held my hand not even minding that my hand was shaking and sweating a little in his, it felt so different holding his hand.
