Chapter One The New Girl

Ashley drew in a deep breath as she came to a stop outside the large, ancient building. It was made of red brick (turned brown), and had a vintage look that Ashley had almost never seen before, not in the city of New York at least.

She stared at her dream school with awe that would've scared anyone in an instant.

"I'll be back in a second," said her father as he left her side and walked towards the school's office.

As she waited for her father to come back, she looked around the crowded lawn. Teenagers were everywhere, most with instruments. There were groups of boys and girls spread across the lawn, sitting in circles and singing along with a guitarist or two. There was even one group with a boy playing the mouth organ, and another with a girl playing the accordion. Everyone seemed to be having fun; laughing, singing, chatting. Ashley knew this was what she wanted; minus the boys, of course.

There was one group sitting close to her, consisting of four boys and three girls. Ashley couldn't see much of the girls, since their backs were facing her, but she saw the boys, one of whom was playing the guitar. He looked down at his fingers, smiling as he sang and played a beautiful song that Ashley didn't quite recognize. Still, the words were lovely.

But If you loved me

Why'd you leave me?

Take my body

Take my body

All I want is,

And all I need is

To find somebody.

I'll find somebody like you.

Oh,oh...

So you brought out the best of me,

A part of me I'd never seen.

You took my soul and wiped it clean.

Our love was made for movie screens.

But If you loved me

Why'd you leave me?

Take my body,

Take my body.

All I want is,

And all I need is

To find somebody.

I'll find somebody.

"Okay, Ashley, so this is a form you've got to fill. You've got to hand it over tomorrow morning at the introduction session. Remember, it's at eight o'clock in the morning so be sure to get up and get dressed in time." Ashley's dad said, dragging her attention away from the blond boy who sang so well. Her dad was already standing behind her when she turned; that made her wonder when he got there. Was she really that carried away by the song?

"Okay dad. Bye, then," she said as she took the form and the other documents along with the room's keys. She then leaned into her father's embrace, and he hugged her tight while saying, "You sure you don't want me to get you a personal dorm? I mean, it's much more comfort-"

She cut him off by saying, "Yes, dad, I'm sure." She pulled out of his embrace. "And I promise I won't do anything wrong. Now go on or you'll miss your flight back to New York."

"It's a private jet, hun."

"But weren't you taking some clients of yours with you?"

"They can wait. You're more important."
