Guess who's back... back again... I am back... From my cruise.
I made friends so I succeed in life now woohoo.
Shayne and I finally reached my two-story house, the clock only minutes before noon. The hot sun was already high in the spacious blue sky, and my neighborhood was filled with the shrieks of excitement from little kids splashing in their pools. I could feel my stomach grumble and whine, and I was eager to pull everything out of the refrigerator. My thirst had begun to rise, causing my throat to feel like sandpaper. As I looked up at my house which I've lived in for all those long fifteen years, I couldn't help but feel nostalgic. Four days away from your own haven can really stir up some mixed emotions. Rest assured, I knew that I would be the only one at home, since the windows were dark from the inside. Dragging my bag with me, I walked up the front porch,
Shayne held my bag while I dug my house key out of my pocket. "Wow. I can't believe it's this hot today." She murmured as she blinked at the sunlight. She fanned her face. "I can feel my guts melting."
I rolled my eyes as I unlocked the front door. "Please. I'm in much worse condition than you. I have to wear this cast for about a month!"
We step into the house's dim foyer. "Sucks to be you." Said Shayne teasingly.
I tossed my keys onto the counter in the kitchen. My eyes fell on the steel grey LG refrigerator right away. My stomach groaned even louder than ever before. Shayne gave me a weird look, then plopped onto the couch. I made a fast bee-line to the refrigerator, my hunger escalating.
As I scrounged around in the kitchen for food, Shayne flipped on the television. She called over her shoulder from the living room, "By the way, your mom told me to remind you. Something about cutting back on the frozen yogurt. I think she also wanted you to sleep in for the day." she added.
Shoving a spoonful of Jell-O into my mouth, I kicked the door of the refrigerator shut. I glanced at the calendar on the wall. One of the memos read, "Meet Jack and family." I furrowed my eyebrows together, wondering what that meant. Maybe it was one of my dad's new clients, or just a friend of my mom. Normally, I would decline from the messages on the calendar, but there was a strange, alien feeling in my gut. It seemed scary.
Suddenly, a loud chime echoed from the doorbell. I jumped, almost dropping my spoon and snack. I heard Shayne hurry to open the front door, and I quickly hobbled into the hallway. Bright light poured in from the opening of the door, and I was momentarily blinded from it. A tall silhouette stood at the front door. That 'someone' was talking with Shayne in a quiet tone so I couldn't really make out what the person was saying.
I stumbled toward the foyer, my hand shielding my eyes from the sunlight. "Hey Shayne." I called, "Who is it?"
A tall, lean brown haired guy stepped inside with a boquet of flowers. "Hi. I'm Jack."
