Part 16

Finn's POV

I was sitting on the couch, flipping through the channels on the TV when I saw a figure running up the driveway out of the corner of my eye. This person, I couldn't make out who it was, frantically ran to the door, ringing the doorbell. Since Jack was upstairs and our Mom and Dad were out, I slowly got up from my spot on the couch. I was halfway towards the door when the person began knocking like a mad-man.

I swung the door open and was greeted by the one and only Dan Howell. I should of guessed. I sighed and rolled my eyes, but I didn't have a chance to speak before Dan began his speech.

"I know it's late but I just thought I should tell you that I need your help, like, really need your help."

I smirked and leaned against the door frame.

"And why should we help you?" I replied.

"Oh come on, Finn! We did a collab about a year ago! I thought we were good friends!'' He sighed, and I could tell he was panicking.

"Yeah, but then you decided to totally change your ways. I haven't talked to you since then as much as Jack, and I wanted to keep it that way-"

"It involves Paige. She's in danger." Dan cut me off.

Oh. Shit.

"JACK..." I yelled up the stairs. Seconds later we heard his footsteps and he was soon by my side.

"Uh, Dan?" Jack said, clearly confused.

"Paige is in trouble, and I need your help." he repeated to Jack.

"WHAT THE HELL COULD YOU HAVE POSSIBLY DONE THIS TIME, HOWELL?" Jack boomed. Both me and Dan both jumped back in fright.

"It's a long story! I don't have much time! I didn't do anything, I swear!'' Dan said. He looked terrified, but you could tell he was ready to fight if he needed.

"Well, tell us!" I said before Jack could say anything.

"Jonah is coming after Paige

because I haven't paid him yet. we have around 55 minutes until he shows up, and we have to move Macy and her parents in that amount of time." Dan said quickly.

Jack let out an exasperated sigh before lightly but forcefully punching the wall. "God damn it, Dan! Well, get her over here, and then we'll worry about her parents." Jack said.

"She's staying with me, Jack. She can't stay here, you live next door!"

"I'm her guardian angel." Jack said calmly.

"Not technically, so she's going to stay with me. Got that?" Dan said, clearly getting angry.

"No, she's not staying with an outcast!"

"Yes, she is!" Dan said, his voice getting louder.

"Why does she need to stay with you so badly, Daniel?" I cut in.

"BECAUSE I LOVE HER, GOD DAMN IT!" Dan said without thinking. You could hear the silence echo through the house and you could see the jealousy in Jack's eyes. "If anyone asks, that didn't happen." Dan murmured before walking away.

DANS POV

I walked up to Paige's house, and before I could over think it, I rang the doorbell. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to convince Paige's parents to leave the house for the night, and they wouldn't let Paige come with me. But before I could run away, the door opened and a woman was standing infront of me. She had dark brown hair and brown eyes, and she didn't look much like Paige.

"Uh, hello, Mrs. Lawrence... uh, I'm a friend of your daughter and I really need to talk to you and Mr. Lawrence." I held my breath.

"Are you her boyfriend?" her mother asked, looking me up and down.

"Well, no-"

"Then come on in, I guess. Mr. Lawrence is in here as well." she led me in. I don't think she knows I've been in here many times with Paige before.

In the living room was Mr. Lawrence, checking emails on his phone.

"Who's this?" He said, looking up.

"This is a friend of Paige's!" Mrs. Lawrence said. Then her dad began looking me up and down.

"I don't like you, how long have you been dating my daughter?"

"Oh! I'm not, sir. We're just friends. But there's a reason I came tonight." I said softly.

"Well, what is it boy?"

"You need to stay at a hotel tonight. I can't explain it, but my friend is mad at me, and instead of getting his revenge on me, he's going to hurt... Paige... but if you all leave-just for tonight- then everyone will be fine. I can guarantee he will be arrested by morning."

45 minutes later, I managed to convince them, and they were on there way. I ran up to Paige's room, and burst the door open.

"Pack your things!" I just said, dragging out a suitcase from the corner of the room.

"Dan! What are you doing here? And why?" Paige said, confused.

"It's Jonah. He's coming here tonight, so you need to stay with me for a while. It's the only safe option." I said. I glanced at the clock, he will probably be here in ten minutes.

Exactly 8 minutes later, Paige was packed, and Jack and Finn had arrived. They had to fight, because Jack is still convinced he's Paige's guardian. Bullshit if you ask me.

"You'll be staying with me, your parents are in a hotel-" I was cut off by the sound of a crash downstairs. This was going to be a bad night.
