"Smile for the camera, Kat!" someone yelled across the room. Kat looked up from what she was doing and gave the photographer a genuine smile.

He took her picture but instead of taking more while she did a different pose, he gave her a thumbs up then walked away.

Ever since winning Choice model two weeks ago Martha had been getting calls nonstop from companies wanting Kat to come work for them and the number of shoots she'd been doing lately was crazy.

But today she was getting her picture taken for a completely different reason. She was at the local hospital along with a few other celebrities who had decided to spend the day visiting the kids in the ICU. She had spent the entire day meeting kids, playing with them, and doing everything she could to give them a fun day.

Martha had come up with the idea for her and a few of her friends to go spend the day at the hospital after Kat's latest bad publicity started to calm down. She thought a day doing "charity work" was just what Kat needed to get back into the good spotlight. Kat loved the idea, but not the part of bringing along the photographer. She just wanted to go help kids because it was the right thing to do, not because it looked good in the public eye.

But here they were at the end of the day, tons of pictures taken and ready to be posted on some blog or magazine's website documenting all the good things Kat had done that day.

Leaving the hospital, Kat said bye to her friends and headed back to her apartment thinking about how she wished she didn't have to base everything she did off of how it looked in the media.

All she wanted was to be able to live her life the way she wanted to, only having to worry about what her family and friends thought-not what everyone in the world thought.

"OH. MY. GOSH. I am like your BIGGEST fan!!!" a young girl practically screamed at Kat as she handed her a picture she wanted signed.

Kat smiles. "Well thank you! It means a lot to hear that," she responds, signing the picture.

She was sitting in an American Eagle in Chicago, doing a signing for her fans. She hadn't even realized that she had any actually "fans" until she won her award, and she wanted to meet some of them now.

She was the face of a new line that American Eagle was debuting today, and she'd asked if she could do a signing along with it. They'd obviously loved the idea, and Martha had too since it was more good publicity.

Kat had loved meeting different people all day. A lot of girls and boys came in through the day, and Kat took as many pictures and spent as many minutes talking with them as she could. She spent the entire day in the store and was actually sad to find the day end.

As she was leaving the mall, her phone started to ring and Kat stopped outside the front entrance to answer it.

"Hey, I'm just leaving."

"Great, great. Head straight to the airport and fly back to L.A.," Martha responded in a very hurried tone.

"Um..why?"

"You've got a call back. For the Victoria's Secret Fashion show!"

"No way, no way, no way, no way!!!" Kat yelled into her phone.

"It's true. And it's tomorrow, so you'd better hurry."
