Who They Really Are

Kat woke up at 8:30 a.m. full of nervous jitters, and she quickly got dressed and sat on the edge of the bed, waiting for the call from Martha saying that she was there. She spent the time going over everything that could go wrong, even though deep down she knew she shouldn't, but she let her anxiety get the best of her.

I'm going to fall, she thought to herself as her phone chimed. I know that I'm going to fall.
She looked down at the message and grabbed her bag then headed downstairs to where Martha was waiting outside the lobby in the car.

"I can tell that you're nervous, Kat," Martha said as Kat sat down in the back seat.

"Okay?"

Martha sighed. "I know I've been hard on you lately and I know that you're a good person who's just made some bad choices. And I'm sorry if I've seemed a little pushy, but really I'm just looking out for your career. I know you're going to go out and do great today, so I guess what I'm trying to say here is don't worry. You can, and will, do amazing."

Kat teared up, and reached over and gave Martha a hug. "Thank you. You have no idea how much that means to me."

Martha smiled and hugged her back as the car came to a stop. "Now go get 'em."

When Kat arrived at the VS building she was immediately taken backstage to where all the girls were getting ready. There were over 50 girls there along with too many stylists and make up artists to count, with salon chairs and tables set up everywhere the eye could see.

Kat changed into her robe that matched all of the other models and was sat down in an empty chair. A stylist quickly came up to her and started working on her hair without saying a word, and a few minutes later another person came up and started doing her nails.

Different girls came up to her as the stylists worked, wishing her luck and chatting with her for a few minutes. To Kat's relief, no one mentioned the videos or even seemed to care about them, and she soon found herself relaxing as the girl finished her nails and told her she could go sit on one of the couches to let them dry. Her hair was up in curlers on top of her head, and she laughed as she looked around at the other girls with their hair the same. No one walking in would be able to tell that all these girls would be runway ready by tonight.

Kat sat on the couch with a couple of the other Pink models, and they filmed a couple of videos for Pink's snapchat story. They all took pictures together in their matching robes and curlers, and posted them with captions saying how excited they were.

Once Kat's nails were dry, she was taken to a different chair where a makeup artist started working on her. The look to match the outer space theme was done with lots of shimmery silver, and Kat was in awe when she got a look in the mirror. It was so different and eye-catching, and seeing how close she was to being fully ready made her that much more excited for the show.

Kat grabbed a fruit cup and ate while she did a quick interview with one of the many backstage reporters, and with all the excitement and buzz backstage the time flew by.

Before she knew it there were already people in their seats, waiting, and the VS models who were in the first section of the show were already completely ready and in line. Kat got changed into her first outfit as the beginning group of models went out, and the show had officially started.

After she changed, a different stylist took her hair out of the curlers and sprayed about a million different products on them, setting them for the rest of the night.

Kat watched on one of the tv's as the show progressed, waiting for her cue. When it was her time, she got in line behind the leading girl, and the lights dimmed as the Pink section started. The first model went out, and blue lights came on as the stage background changed to stars to set the mood.
