Who They Really Are

No one ended up figuring out who was in the picture with Noel (to everyone's relief), but they still spent the next week taking extra precautions.

Every morning Kat would go to the gym, alone, then if they wanted to go out somewhere for the day they would ride separate trains and try to pick somewhere not very public. The routine got to be pretty tiring, and the next Friday night when Matt announced that they were all going to a party, Kat was happy to have an excuse not to go.

"I'll stay here. It'd be too easy for someone to see me and Noel together again," Kat says,
and she can feel Noel's eyes on her and knows he can see through her words.

"You guys can't just never go out together again you know," Charlie says as he and Matt make their way to the door.

Kat just shrugs as she makes her way to the couch.

"Oh well. C'mon Noel," Matt says as he steps out the door.

"I'm staying here," Noel says from his seat at the bar.

"Of course you are," Charlie says, rolling his eyes.

Kat watches as Liam and Addi make their way into the room and head towards the door.

"C'mon dude," Liam says to Noel as he passes.

"I'm not going," Noel tells him as he stands up out of his seat.

"Seriously?" Liam asks, stopping in the doorway.

"Yup. Kat doesn't want to go so I'm staying here to keep her company," Noel says, making his way to the living room.

"You just want to be here alone with her," Liam says, to which Addi shoves him and tells him to be quiet.

"What? You know I'm right," Liam says as the pair walk out the door, closing it behind them.
Noel walks over to the couch and sits down beside Kat, putting his arm around her and bringing her closer to him.

"Guess that's what it's like to constantly live with boys," Kat says with a laugh.

"It is.. Poor Addi is already used to it," Noel replies, grabbing the tv remote.

"What do you wanna watch?"

Kat shrugs. "I don't care."

"I'm not really in a tv mood," Noel says, putting the remote back down.

"What are you in the mood for?" Kat asks.

"Let's just talk," Noel says, turning to face Kat.

Kat laughs, thinking about how she's never known a guy before who'd rather talk than watch tv. "About what?"

Noel thinks for a minute. "Let's just ask each other random questions."

"Alright... But you have to go first," Kat replies.

"Okay. Hmm... What's your favorite food?"

"Chocolate. Not that I ever get to eat much of it," Kat says with a sigh. "You?"

"Steak. Which reminds me that we still need to try that steakhouse down the street."

Kat laughs. "We do... What's your favorite movie?"

"Jurassic World. You?"

"Maybe Divergent. I really love Theo James."

"You just think he's hot," Noel says with fake annoyance.

"True. Mmm... Theo James," Kat says with a smirk.

Noel rolls his eyes at Kat, then thinks of a new question.
