After the sound check they ate some dinner and just went back stage until it was time for the show to start. When it was finally time for the opening act to go out, the boys went off somewhere to be alone before it was their turn to preform.
"They like to just be alone before its time. Get their heads in the zone and all that," Addi explained.
Addi and Kat watched the opening act from off the side of the stage, and Kat loved being able to see everything from a different point of view. When it was finally time for the guys to go on stage, Kat felt herself feeling really jittery.
"I know, I always feel that way before a show too," Addi told her. "I guess I feel nervous and excited for them."
Matt got on stage first while it was still completely dark, and started playing a beat with his drums. Everyone immediately started screaming like crazy, and the other boys made their way on stage as Matt kept the beat going.
Noel strummed his guitar once, and the screaming intensified.
"San Franciscoooooo," Liam yelled.
The crowd screamed back.
"Let's go!" Noel yelled as the spotlights came on, shining on each boy. The real concert had begun.
•••••••
The concert lasted a little over an hour, and Kat thought it was even better than the last one.
The guys ran off stage after the encore, and quickly made their way backstage to where Kat and Addi were sitting.
"I went to one of the vendors and got you guys food during the encore," Addi says, pointing to one of the tables.
The boys all thanked her and hurried to the food, scarfing it down like animals.
"They're always one of three ways after concerts. They're either 1. completely starving and ravenous, 2. full of adrenaline, or 3. extremely chill. There's no in between with them," Addi explained as the boys ate.
"What do they do when they're full of adrenaline?" Kat asks.
"They all have different ways of handling it. Sometimes they go out partying, sometimes they'll just run around and be idiots. It just depends."
Kat nods, loving getting the inside scoop on everything from Addi tonight.
"They also go partying after shows when they think they did better than usual. They have all kinds of weird traditions," Addi adds as the boys make their way over to them.
"Tonight's not a party kind of night," Liam says, sitting down beside Addi on the couch.
"Really? I thought you guys did really great," Kat says.
"Exactly. Great isn't the best we can do," Matt says, grabbing the final seat on the couch beside Kat.
"So what're you guys planning on doing tonight?" Addi asks.
"Xbox. What else would we do?" Matt answers, grabbing some controllers.
Liam, Matt and Charlie start the game while Addi grabs her phone and starts doing something on it.
"Wanna take a walk?" Noel asks Kat. She nods, and stands up and follows him as Charlie gladly takes the seat she left.
Noel leads her out from backstage and back out onto the floor. They walk in comfortable silence for a few minutes, and Kat gets a sudden burst of confidence and takes Noel's hand. He looks down in surprise, then gives Kat a small smile.
"Where are you off to next?" Kat asks after a few more moments of peaceful quiet.
"Somewhere in Washington I think," he replies.
