"Just calm down. I'm sure it won't be a big deal," Alex says for probably the 8th time that night.

"I know, I'm just really scared," Kat replied.

Martha had called her earlier that evening and informed her that her Pink shoot date was next Monday, September 1st, and immediately she'd started panicking. Her first thought had been to call Alex, and he answered on the first ring.

"What are you even scared of?" Alex asks.

Kat thinks for a minute, not entirely sure. "Umm.. failing? Which will then result in me not achieving my dreams?"

"Kat you're amazing at what you do and you deserve that spot more than anyone. If those people don't want you in their show then they're insane. So just take a deep breath, and try to forget about it. No point in worrying all weekend."

"Alex, have I ever told you you're the best brother ever?" Kat asks.

Alex laughs. "Nope, it's not necessary."

"Well you are. Just don't tell Jake," Kat jokes.

They talk for a few more minutes, then Alex has to go. Kat spends the rest of the night at home in her apartment, enjoying the time just being able to relax.

*********
On Saturday morning Kat wakes up at 10:00 to a phone full of texts, all people seeing if she wanted to hang out while she was back home for the weekend.

Kat scrolls through the messages, one from Elissa catching her eye.

Elissa: Wanna have a girls day?

Kat thinks for a minute before responding.

Kat: Will Ciara be there?

Elissa: Nope. Just us two :)

Kat smiles, realizing a girls day is exactly what she needs to get her mind off the shoot. And with Ciara not being there, it might actually be enjoyable.

Kat: Sounds amazing. Meet for lunch at 2:00?

Kat gets ready then meets Elissa for a late lunch in the city. She goes for a really natural look, leaving her hair in its natural waves and only putting on a little foundation and some mascara. She's wearing a loose white t-shirt and black jean shorts, with gladiator sandals.

"This is so nice, just the two of us," Elissa says as she eats her chicken.

Kat nods. "It really is. A lot less.. stressful."

"Exactly. All Ciara wants to do is go out and party. Sometimes I wonder if we're even actually friends."

"I know exactly what you mean. Being with her is so tiring."

"Too true."

They finish their food and pay, then walk out of the restaurant into the city.

"So whatcha wanna do? I'm free all day," Kat asks.

"Hmm.. I don't know. We could go see a Broadway show, or maybe go shopping?"

"Shopping sounds amazing," Kat replies.

"And we could get our nails done afterward. I know an amazing place downtown." Elissa replies, looping her arm through Kat's as they start walking down the sidewalk.

They go through all kinds of stores, trying tons of things on but not really buying anything throughout the day. They chat about all kinds of different things as they shop, and Kat is glad she said yes to going out today. Elissa was a real friend, and that's just what Kat needed.
