The shoot that Kat was doing was one for the new Pink dorm collection. She was there along with Lacey, Alex, and Madison that she remembered from the call backs, and two Pink models named Taylor and Lily. The girls all got their hair and makeup done by the Pink team, and then split into two groups.
Kat and Lacey go with Lily, and their shoot is for the new dorm accessories. There was a mock dorm room set up with a bed, desk, and bookshelves, all decorated with Pink decor.
"Basically we don't have a certain way we do things. We'll just play around with whatever props they give us, sometimes all three of us out there and sometimes just one of us. It'll be fun," Lily says to the girls, giving them a big smile.
Before they started the girls were all given full Pink outfits to wear. Kat's outfit was a hot pink hoodie with gray, sparkly leggings. Lily and Lacey had on similar outfits, and they all matched the whole college theme.
They started the shoot with the pillows in the line, and at first they took turns posing with the different sized pillows. After a little while, the girls each grabbed a pillow and had a fake pillow fight, and Kat found herself relaxing as she realized that it really was just supposed to be a fun shoot.
After pillows they moved onto the different blankets and bed spreads. Lily showed the girls how they normally shot the different things, and Kat tried to soak up as much information as she could.
They finished the day with the girls doing solo shots, each in the different outfits in the line. Kat watched Lily and all of the poses she used, and tried a couple herself when it was her turn. She tried her best to be herself too though, not wanting to just copy the pro. They took group shots too before they finished, the girls joking and laughing as they posed.
The shoot only took a couple hours, and Kat found that her nerves completely vanished at some point during the day.
Someone told the girls they could change back into their clothes once they finished, and Lacey started to walk back to the changing room.
"Are we allowed to post pictures from the shoot before it comes out?" Kat asks Lily.
"You mean like a selfie?" Lily says. Kat nods.
"Yup, that's totally fine. We normally do to let fans know the new lines are coming because it makes a lot of buzz."
"Hey Lacey! Wanna take a selfie before we change?" Kat calls.
"Well duh! I never pass up a selfie," Lacey says, coming over to the girls.
Kat grabs her phone and goes onto the camera as Lily and Lacey move one on each side of her. Kat raises her arm up a little, moving the camera to get them all into the frame then puts her other hand up into a peace sign and smiles, Lily does a pouty face, and Lacey does the duck face. Kat snaps the picture then pulls it up and they all look at it.
"I'd say it's pretty Instagram worthy," Kat says.
The girls laugh and nod.
"Don't forget to tag me!" Lily says.
"Me too!" Lacey calls as she goes to change.
Kat posts the picture on Instagram then changes her clothes.
"So.. we're free to go now?" Lacey asks.
"Yup! You girls did great today. Good luck with everything," Lily answers.
"Thanks for all your help. It was really fun," Kat says, giving Lily a hug.
"Anytime. Hopefully I'll be seeing you guys again soon," Lily says before she leaves.
Kat gives Lacey a hug, then leaves too, sending Martha a text as she goes.
Kat: It went great. It was really fun too.
Martha responded almost instantly, and Kat laughs, knowing she was probably waiting around for that text all day.
Martha: Glad to hear it. I'll let you know when I get any news.
Kat grabs a taxi, heading back to her hotel to relax the rest of the evening. She had another shoot at the end of the week, and a couple of different interviews before that. She was glad she had the rest of the day to relax before she had to do all that, though.
Once she got to her hotel room she called Alex, telling him about everything and that he was right about her not having to worry so much. They talked about his different sports, and how the first week of school had been. He had to go after a while to go to practice, and Kat was a little bummed since it was only 6:00 and she didn't know what to do with the rest of her night.
She got on Instagram, looking at her post from earlier and seeing that it already had over 100,000 likes. She scrolled through her feed, looking at some pictures her friends had posted during the day. Kat only followed a little over 100 people, and she intended to keep it that way even if she got more famous. She followed mostly close friends and family, and maybe an occasional celebrity she really liked but that was it.
There weren't many new pictures on her feed tonight Kat noticed as she scrolled through. One of her cousins had posted a picture of her baby, and Elissa had posted a picture of her and Blake. Kat smiled at Elissa's happy look in the picture, and clicked the like button.
Kat kept scrolling, hoping for something interesting to pop up and saw that Noel had posted. It was a picture of an empty stadium and the caption was, "see you at 8:30 Ohio".
Kat clicked out of Instagram and went to her text messages, making a new one.
Kat: Good luck in Ohio. Don't forget to let our your inner rock star
The reply was almost instant.
Noel Casey: thx. & obviously, it's a rock concert.
Kat laughed at her phone, taking a minute to think of what to reply when another text came.
Noel Casey: how'd your thing go??
Kat: it was really fun. I think I did okay
Noel Casey: when do you know if ur in the show thingy
Kat laughed at Noel's use of the word 'thingy'.
Kat: lol, no idea. I'm just gonna try and forget about it til then
Noel Casey: let me know when u find out
Kat: shouldn't you be like sound checking or something ?
Noel Casey: already done. we're just chilling now til 8ish
Kat: I'll let you go hang out with your band then
Noel Casey: no no you're a lot more interesting don't leave
Kat: okay but what are we even gonna talk about
Noel Casey: what're you doing the rest of the week?
Kat: interview with some magazine tomorrow, radio interview wed., shoot on thurs. & nothing Friday. u?
Noel Casey: show in Vegas on wed and show in San Francisco on Friday
Kat: sounds like fun
Noel Casey: it'd be more fun if you came
Kat: i can't just come to all of your concerts lol
Noel Casey: yes you can, Vegas and San Fran aren't that far from la
Kat: my manager wouldn't let me go to a concert the night before a shoot. I'm on a tight leash
Noel Casey: you'll come to Friday's then
Kat: I don't think I can
Noel Casey: I have to go but you're coming. I'll see you Friday :)
