~A good portion of this part of the story will be in Aeron's P.O.V, but it will switch up a bit. Enjoy.
~Aeron's P.O.V
After I got another knife and the pistol, I went into the hallway of the school and looked down to my left and then the right. The hallway was narrow and little light poured in from all of the broken windows. There were open lockers and doors hanging off of their henges. Several large boards were lying on the floor, creating small obstacles for me to wobble over. The water fountains that once pumped fresh, clean, cold water through the school were now broken and filthy.
I jogged to the left and to the double doors, pulling the handles, with no avail. There was a large padlock keeping me inside and the doors locked. I looked back toward the other way and ran for that door, seeing that it was also locked.
If the doors are locked then how did Anna get out and where did Micheal go?
I pulled the pistol from my waistband and checked room after room, discovering that most of the windows were busted. Peeking out over the concrete and vines, I saw that there was a fifty foot drop to the ground and Anna wouldn't have lived it to run away.
I backed up and went into the classroom across the hallway.
More shattered windows and busted desks. Papers were strewn about with old backpacks and chairs. The teacher's desk was flipped on its side and there were old pens and pencils that were broken and layed out. I saw that there was a vent that was uncovered.
I left that room and went to the next one down the hall. There was another vent, but the grate was still covering it. Anna must have escaped through the one in the room I just checked. She was small enough to fit through the tunnels and could have made it to the first floor and jumped out of a window.
That leaves another problem. Micheal was too big and couldn't fit through them. So how did he manage to escape this place? The only person that knows the answer is him and Deardra, but I killed her.
I had nowhere to go, but I remembered that I still had my phone. I pulled it out of my back pocket and scrolled through my contacts until I found Harry's. I tapped the call button and waited a few rings before he finally picked up.
At least I have service.
"Aeron?!" Harry shouts.
I smiled, relieved that I had been able to live through this ordeal and was able to hear his voice again.
"Yeah, it's me." I reply.
I heard him sigh.
"Good, where are you?" He asked.
I started to limp down the hallway and tried the double doors again, yanking at the chain and handles. Anything to get me out of this hell hole.
"I'm at the school building where you guys found Liam, El, and I."
"Okay, stay put," He says.
I narrowed my eyes and ran my hand through my hair.
Stay put? Really? I've been locked in this place for hours and you want me to stay put?
Harry began to talk in the background. There was several claps, a cheer, and I heard tires screech.
"We're on our way, now." He returns.
I rolled my eyes.
He was such a nut.
"I'll try to contain my excitement." I say, sarcastically, getting onto my toes to peer through the glass of the doors.
