Nicole's P.O.V.
When I woke up on Austin's couch I was confused at first. I didn't know where I was until I noticed the messy living room. Not everyone I know has a messy living room like this. "Hey how'd you sleep?" Austin said bringing out a plate of food. "I slept good, thank you." Smiling down at the plate of food. He leaned in for a kiss and I was kind of shocked. "What's wrong?" Austin asked me giving me a very confused look. "Nothing I'm just surprised you kissed me that's all. Did something happen between us last night?" I asked him. He face went pale. I didn't know what I said to make him feel that way but I could tell he was upset. "Oh, nothing never mind, forget it." Austin said folding taking some dishes to the kitchen.
I massaged my temples for a minute then grabbed my car keys and hoodie. "Hey uh Austin? I'm gonna go home and shower so maybe we can hang out later." I said walking towards the door. "Yeah sure." He said in a pissy mood. I honestly don't remember what went on last night but it was obviously something big because it sent Austin off the wall. So I didn't know what to say to him so I just left. I knew I could have done something better but I just couldn't think of it at the moment.
When I got home I slipped off my clothes and got in the shower. The warm water made me feel clean. I feel like I haven't showered in days because I probably haven't. After I got out I threw on a pair of leggings and my hoodie from Arizona when we went there for a trip last summer. I loved that sweatshirt, it reminds me of all the fun I had.
After I made my way downstairs I grabbed something to eat because Austin's breakfast didn't quiet fill me up. When I finished eating I grabbed my phone and called Austin.
He didn't answer so I left him a message. "Hey uh I was just wondering if you still wanted to hang out today. I just wanted to ask you about what happened last night because I rarely remember anything but even if you don't want to talk about it we can still go to the beach or something but just give me a call back or something." Then with that I hung up. I had a bad feeling in my stomach like I messed up something huge.
After about two hours of just sitting and doing nothing I hear a knock at the door. I got up and opened the door and it was Austin.
"Hi Nicole." He said looking down the whole time. "Hey Austin what's up?" "Can I come in? I think we need to talk about something." Austin said making eye contact with me. "Uh yeah sure." I said making room for him to come through the door.
"About last night-" Austin started but right as he started the phone rang. "Oh I'm sorry I should take this. It'll just be a minute." I said grabbing the phone and heading up towards the stairs.
"Hello?" I said sitting on my bed. "Hello this is the California police station. We have been ordered to tell you some disappointing news." "Uh yes officer what is it?" I said fidgeting with my fingers. "Your mother, has been in a serious plane crash and there has been no sign of survivors." I just sat there in awe. I didn't know what to say except nothing. Nothing at all. Just sitting there and silently crying.
"Nicole is everything alright up there?" Austin said coming up the stairs. "Nicole what happened?!" He said rushing beside me. He cradled me in his arms but I just couldn't say a word. "She-she's gone." And with those words I feel like my life would never be the same again.Authors note: Hey I don't know if I'm going to continue this story because no one is reading it but I know it's because I haven't updated but I'm gonna give it one more shot.
