I woke up in a dark place, rubbing my eyes from fatigue.I looked at my calloused fingers and they were covered in black.Scrambling to my feet, I looked at my surroundings.

It was a small room with some documents piled messily on a weary-looking desk. Some shards of glass were scattered all over the floor.I picked one up, looking at my eyes through it.The area around my hazel orbs was covered in a black substance of some sort.I gasped at the sight, dropping the piece of glass and only breaking it some more. The door at the corner of the room opened and a man with a bright smile and platinum white hair walked in.

"Oh, you're awake, yet dead at the same time." He said, chuckling at the sentence he had just said.

"W-What?" I replied, terrified and confused. The man was dressed smartly, a classic marching band outfit except it was all..black.Not counting the silver detail on his jacket and the same details on the sides of his trousers.

"You didn't know? Wow, Frank is crap at his job.I'm Gerard,by the way."He introduced himself then started laughing like a maniac.

My eyes widened and Gerard finally stopped laughing, wiping his tears and getting the same black substance smudged on his hands from his eyes.

"We're all dead here, and it's my job to show you around since you decided to die so early," Gerard sighed a bit at the end."Kids nowadays just can't wait for their fate, can they?"

"I don't want to be here! It's not my fault I have cancer!" I snapped, rage filling me.How dare he mock an illness like that!

"Oh I'm terribly sorry but, why is your hair still on your head if you had cancer while you were alive?" Gerard questioned, gesturing to my head.

"I don't know wh-" I stopped short when I felt my head and grabbed at my long brown hair that I had before the chemotherapy began.

"I guess Bob wanted you to look your best before you chose your job."Gerard said, inspecting his black nail-polished fingernails.

"But why am I so...pale?Like a dead person?" I questioned, looking at my hands which were pale white.

"Because hun,"Gerard chuckled."We're all dead here,remember?"
