The more blows I delivered to the masked man, the worse it began to hurt me. Why am I feeling the pain. And this guy. He seems completely unhurt by this many hits. How's this possible?!
"Gray, stop!" Neji shouted. I stopped attacking and did a back hand spring over to their sides."What's up nerd?" I ask."Do you remember when he was performing those handsigns when we began?" he asks."Yeah, so?" I question.
"He performed a jutsu between then and when you jumped in to attack him. I'm not sure what could be but he's making you feel his pain. I've noticed you slowing down and some of your chakra was drained." he explained."No wonder that smirk on his face isn't gone yet." I mumble.
"And I'm not a nerd. I'm intellectual."
"That's exactly what a nerd would say." Naruto said. My laughter escaped in an explosion that I didn't expect."Sorry. So, what's the plan, nerd- I mean intellectual?" I ask, making Naruto laugh.
"We have to wait." he answers.
"Wait?" Kiba asks in shock."We can stall. His jutsu is still active so we should wait until he runs low on chakra. I know he'll keep it going, thinking we'll lay hits on him."
"So what do we do in the meantime?" I ask."Try not to get hit by his attacks." he replies and we all duck, as the man throws a kunai at us.
"You punks gonna stand there all day? I was just enjoying the game. I don't want to win by default." says our enemy.
The four of us run out of his way and dodge anything he throws at us.
How long will this drag on for? I wonder. I see Naruto struggling to fight the ? asked man and I sneak up behind him. Too bad I wasn't quiet enough. I stepped on a twig.
Snap! Is what the twig and I said. He turned and threw me against a tree. I screamed as my back hit it and I fell to the ground."Gray!" Naruto yelled for me. I wanted to say I was okay but I couldn't get the words out. The pain was too great.
Naruto got angry and charged at the masked man. No, don't do it, I wanted to say but I realized I had blacked out.
Subconscious
In front of me was Tukaro. His big red eyes still scared me."You're back? And so soon. You missed me?" He asked."Well, I don't wanna say no, but...I don't wanna say yes either."
"I'm joking. I see you've met the man who's been releasing tailed beasts from their hosts." he says."Whoa, big scary caged monster says what now?" I ask.
"He's looking forward to...let's just say a very bloody evolution."
(RWBY!!!)
"I don't understand."
"He wants the beasts to run wild, wiping out humanity because they rot. They do the craziest things and for no reason, so he feels they should die. What he never understood is that killing them all isn't the answer. His boss, however, is still the one who told him to carry out the order. I'm not quite sure who that would be though." He says.
"Wait, why are you helping me?" I ask."Why not?" He asks."Well, Naruto told me that Kurama is mean to him. I though all beasts would be mean, even to their hosts." I shrugged."You shouldn't just assume things, child. That could get you killed. Besides, what reason do I have to disrespect you?" She asks.
"Keeping you imprisoned in my body?" I ask. Wait, why am I giving her ideas? I ask myself."Anyway," I begin, changing the subject."How do I beat him?"
"Well, I probably shouldn't advise this, but it's sure to work."
"Whatever it is, tell me."
"Okay."
Outside
"Gray! Gray, please answer me!" I hear a voice say as I jolt up and down, being shaken by that person. My eyes open to the same blue eyes of my best friend."Are you okay? I was so worried." He said as I wrap my arms around him in a hug.
"I'm fine. Where are Kiba and Neji?" I ask, looking around."They're still fighting that masked guy. But I took you to a safer place." He answered with a small smile."Naruto, we have to go back. I know a way to stop him."
"How?" He asked."I-"
"Scratch that, no way am I taking you back there." He cut me off.
"You didn't even let me answer."
"That's the point, Gray! You're not going!" He yelled at me."Hey, don't start yelling at me!"
"Then you shouldn't start trying to do things by yourself."
"Naruto, I know how to do this."
"I'm still not letting you go." He says, making me angry.
"What are you, my dad?!"
"Stop yelling at me!"
"Stop being such an idiot!"
"Stop being such a little brat! You heard grandma Tsunade, you're not even ready for this kind of thing!"
Then I plumped back down into criss cross form and stared at the ground.
"Fine." I mumble. Naruto Sat back down in front of me and looked at me."Gray?" He asked.
I didn't answer him."I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings. I didn't mean to." He kept going. He reached out for me, trying to touch my shoulder but I caught his hand and squeezed it. I pulled him into a hug and squeezed him tight.
He seemed confused but he hugged me back instantly.
"I'm sorry, Naruto." I whispered to him.
"It's fi-"
He didn't even get to finish.
