Death's Door

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! Anyway, since it's christmas, I give you a religious related story:

So I was re-reading the Kane Chronicles lately and something that they said as they were witnessing a trial in the Egyptian afterlife kept bugging me. The quote is from 'The Serpent's Shadow' (Book three).

"The afterlife looks different to every soul," he said, "depending on what they believe. For that guy, Egypt must've made a strong impression when he was young, maybe."
"And if someone doesn't believe in any afterlife?" I asked.
Walt gave me a sad look. "Then that's what they experience."

So I thought, what would happen if you got sent to the wrong afterlife? What if you were Christian, and you got sent sent to the Greek Elysium instead of being sent to Heaven? How would you get back to where you were supposed to be?

I guess the plot would just be that someone ends up in the wrong afterlife and is trying to figure out how to get back and how they got there. I suppose it could be a continuation of my other idea, Doors. If so, it could start with Melody finally dying, and going to join her friends in heaven, only she's in the wrong heaven.
*Reporter Voice* The walls between religions are breaking down. The fate of the world's dead is in the hands of one newly dead girl, her friends and bunch of random dead guys. Can they save the world from catastrophic consequences? Sorry about that, I'm tired.

I feel like this would really get people to think about their religious beliefs, or lack thereof. I mean, how many wars have been fought in the name of religion? The Crusades were a example of this. So what would happen to the soldiers who fought in those wars? Would they be remembered as heroes, or murderers? Heaven or Hell?

And on that note, I leave you! So yeah, Merry Christmas!
