We had been at school for a while now. Umbridge was driving me to the brink of insanity. Never in my lifetime have I met someone as vain as Delores Umbridge. Dozens upon dozens of rules have be put into place and I've broke quite a lot of them so far. Fred and I have gotten into trouble countless times for our public displays of affection- even holding hands!

The snow had started to fall on the grounds of Hogwarts, signally that it was nearing the festive season of Christmas. It was a Hogsmeade weekend on this particular Saturday, and a bunch of students had congregated in The Three Broomsticks to discuss something with Harry. The idea had gone around that Harry could possibly teach us how to properly defend ourselves. The Dark Lord had risen once more and we needed to be strong. Sadly, Harry was not too fond on the idea.

"Come on, Harry! We need to learn how to protect ourselves. It's not safe anymore. We need you", I had articulated clearly.

Others begged of him to teach us as well and finally he caved in.

Hermione had withdrawn a roll of parchment for us all to sign our names onto. After Fred's name, I had written Maddison Hunter in a neat, cursive font. Once the meeting was done, Fred and I had a walk around Hogsmeade.

"Freddie", I said. "What do you think will happen if You Know Who- I mean, Voldemort rises to power like before?"

Fred paused for a second in thought before answering, "I guess time will tell. I think that we're going to war".

War... I thought. I would have to fight in a war.

"And if it results in war?" I questioned.

"Then we'll have to fight", he said. Silence dawned on our conversation. We both remained in thought about the future and what it would hold for the two of us.

We had walked up to the fence near the Shrieking Shack. We sat on a nearby rock that had a few sprinkles of frost on it.

"What will we do next year?" I asked before elaborating, "You'll be graduated and I'll still be here at Hogwarts".

"We can see each other on the holidays and maybe I could come down to Hogsmeade on a weekend" He explained with a weak smile. "And don't forget about sending letters".

"I suppose you're right", I said with a sigh.

"I'm always right", he replied, placing a smile across my face.

I rested my head on his shoulder and lightly closed my eyes. He was warm.

We stayed like that for a while, enjoying each other's embrace. Soon enough, it was time to retreat back to the castle. We walked hand-in-hand into the castle only to be flung apart into different directions.

"Now, what did I say about holding hands?" the high-pitched voice of Umbridge rang through the hallway. "Detention- both of you!"

"But professor, we were only holding ha-" I started to say but was cut off.

"No talking back to me, young lady. Fifty points from Gryffindor. You both will be serving detention with me after dinner", she said in a prevailing manner. She then walked away with her head held high.

"Fifty points! That's unbelievable! She's a right idiot", Fred exclaimed with wide eyes.

"Don't you worry. She'll get her comeuppance eventually", I replied with a smirk.

"Let's not waste our brain capacity on her. Let's go off to dinner", he said, signalling for us to walk in the direction of the Great Hall. The walk was quite silence but it wasn't bad or awkward silence. It was silence filled with thought. Not too long later, we had arrived and journeyed our way to our seat at the table.
