Hey guys, just letting you know that this is an author's note.

Today, Alan Rickman, a cinematic hero passed away. He sadly died of cancer in London at only 69 years old. Too young.

I remember when I was very young and saw the Philospher's Stone for the first time. It hadn't been out on DVD for too long. Maybe a year or so. I thought that Severus Snape was the worst character ever. He was so condescending and made me feel hatred towards him. His vile attitude towards Harry carried out throughout  the books and movies, until you found out why. I remember being in the cinema when Snape murdered Dumbledore, trying not to curse and scream in hatred at the screen. I was angry at him. When the last film came out and Severus died and his memories were shown in the Pensive, I didn't know what to feel. I had felt hatred towards this character for so long and it suddenly disappeared. I most certainly knew that he wasn't a hero though. In the end I just concluded that he was an unfortunate soul who had lost the love of his life.

A good actor sends you through a roller coaster of emotions and I believe that Alan Rickman succeeded in that department. He made you feel furious at him when he had gotten angry at Harry and he had made you feel sorry for him when he had shown his love for Lily. He was a phenomenal actor and will certainly not be missed.

Of course I appreciate the other acting he's done, such as Love Actually, Dogma (He was absolutely hilarious in this film) etc. but his role of Severus Snape and how he portrayed him will always and forever be my favourite thing about him. He was a genuinely kind guy which he demonstrated through his interviews and behind the scenes vidoes.

Alan Rickman once said, "When I'm 80 years old and sitting in my rocking chair, I'll be reading Harry Potter, and my family will say to me 'After all this time' and I will say 'Always.' "
I find it ever so saddening that he didn't reach this goal but he had a good life.

To be quite honest, writing this right now isn't exactly easy. Even though I never met Alan Rickman, he has had a huge impact on my life and I am absolutely devastated. I cannot even believe was his fellow co-stars, especially on Harry Potter must think of this. My heart goes out to them as well as his loving family and friends. I also show my support to fellow fans of his work.

Alan, you had a wonderful life and I hope that you're doing better now and are away from pain and harm.

Rest in peace, Alan. We all love you and miss you dearly.

"After all this time?"
"Always..."

Xxx.
