Hi, if you are new to this story, then please let me inform you: this story was started in 2015 and under the guidance of only one book and my overactive imagination. The results aren't good (check the apolagies chapter at the end if you wanna see it for yourself, a list of all the bad things I noticed recently about this book) and therefore I am currently rewriting this, hopefully making it a lot better. Still, I'm letting this stay here for a while for people to have a slight notion of what I tried to achieve those years ago and what I'm gonna improve on now. Leave your feedback if you want, it means the world to me, and hum...happy reading? *dies of cringe*

After they both left, my day was quite useless.
Jeff made sure to check my head again, it turned out that I was fine, just like I assumed the moment I started to feel better, I was only dizzy earlier because even though I was fine, I hit my head on the floor. As for the rest, I took about two naps during the day, considering that I was acustomized to sleep during the day and working trough the night.
I didn't even bothered to hide the fact that I wasn't surprised about the Doors closing, wich problably only added a step for them to know that I had valuable information on me, but I guess they figured it out the moment I walked in the Glade. Which was very quiet at the moment.

I was tired of sleeping, and I sure wanted to get the hell out of there, so I took a shot everytime Jeff got out of the room, only to be sent back to it again.
My voice came back to me right after I took my second nap, but they didn't had to know, did they?

So now I was back to being in the room, this time being the door locked, once that it was past their curfew and they needed to rest.
I was just walking around the room, looking at things that were on each tabble and looking for something fun to do. There were a couple of other beds, so I guess that they received people regulary. And while I was at it, I noticed that there was a freaking window on the other side of the room.

I quickly made my way to it, realising then that it was open. I hadn't to think twice before jumping out of it, leaving finally the dam place.
Looking around, I noticed that everybody was sleeping in a zone filled with sleeping bags near the Homestead, which was pretty close to where I was standing in the moment.

I basically was tip-toeing my way out, trying not to wake anybody up. I was heading for the Bloodhouse, I heard someone say that they had dragged Jul there and I seriously needed my faithfull pet Griever to get out of here before anybody at the base noticed that I wasn't there to full-fill my job as a Griver watcher. I belived that I had about until the next night for them to notice my disapearence.

I was almost reaching the Bloodhouse building when its door started to open and, since I was sneacking my way in the middle of sleeping teenage boys and there was no place for me to hide, so I trew myself to the floor, lying somewhere near an uncoscious boy.
It was Alby and Newt, they were carrying some things, like buckets, shovels and knives. I guess they were just making sure things were cleaned up and all set with the animals.

"She writted about anything more?" Alby questioned, neither of them even noticing me as I stood on the ground, shaking and scared like hell that they would find me.

"Well, yeah, she replied to my coment, but I don't think she will say anything." Newt replied.
"Great...this was exacly what we needed..." Alby said with an anoying huff, trowing the shovels loudly to the floor.

I jumped at the sound, it could had awaken someone, but the place was still quiet and nobody moved, so I guess it was alright.

"Why? I think it isn't that bad, I mean, come on...I have never seen a girl as far as I can remember, so... I find her...kinda of cute. Or am I just beeing freaky for that?" Newt putted the rest of the things he was carrying on the floor. He seemed a little bit hesitant to reveal that thought, and after it was said, he spoke faster, probably trying to cover up his previous words.

I felt a blush creepening from the back of my neck to my cheeks.
Me? Cute? Well, that is new. Nobody has ever called me cute before. Well  except...it doesn't matter.

"Well, you and the other shanks better quit that though, we gotta keep this running well, or else the Grievers won't be the only thing that make chaos in here. Besides, we will be getting a Newbie in some time, so things will only be bugging worse."
Newt scoffed,

"You are not normal, you get to see a girl after two years and that's your reaction?"
"I need to keep things working. Nobody better touch her, you hear me?"
Alby then smirked at him, something I definatly wasn't expecting.
"I actually heard yours wasn't that good too. Aparently you stared long enough to make up for the loss of words."

He then gave a small smile, adding something with a playfull tone to their conversation.
"Yeah, she was speeachless." His voice changed to something more serious "But hey, someone is gonna have to look out for her now, we can't just leave her going around as she wants, especially with all of them around. You saw the way they acted, they looked like they all wanted to jump at her the moment she would arrive."

"Yeah, you are right about that, I need to think about it. But what worries me the most is that she just appeared in the Maze out of nowhere. And that thing that was before, I had never seen one of those things before, but I am not stupid: that thing is definitely a Griever of some sort."

"Yes, it is suspicious."

I felt like I needed to slap myself at their coments, and I could bet that they had no idea that anybody was eavesdropping, much less me.
I was lost in thoughs for a moment, before a grumble on my side reminded me that I was still on the floor. I got up as soon as they left, still thinking about Newt's words.

And I didn't noticed at first, but I was smilling at the idea. Sure, I only met him today, but, admiting...he was good looking and seemed very nice. And aparently he though I was cute too, so it left me in an happy mood.

I then shook my head.
No, no, no. I had to get out of here as soon as possible, I couldn't just stay there, especially not because because of some random boy that I didn't even knew much about, besides the fact that he had warm brown eyes that were pretty good to look at.

I was being so girly that my not-so-girly side got disgusted. I swear that my sides could get in a fight right now. But I decided to leave the drama for later.

Besides, he had never seen another girl before, so it was pretty normal.
As I entered the BloodHouse, even though it was cleaned and everything on its place, the first thing that struck me was the smell of raw meet. It didn't quite bothered me, I had to work with something worse while making up the Grievers. I can say that combining a machine with flesh wasn't very pleasent, even though it was fun to have to pick up their designes while they were growing in little jar-like devices with a yellow-ish liquid inside them.

I also noticed that Jul was pretty much pilled on itself on the corner of the room.
The metal was very scrapped, the screws and the bolts were very loose, some of them even missing, the claws on its legs needed to be sharpened, or else it would fall when climbing up walls, about seven of the cables on the legs were broken and there were clearly visible live wires that needed to be covered up with something. Luckily, the controll box of the whole things was still intact, so the probabilities of it going back to its normal behaviour were pretty high, it would only take some days and the right materials to bring it back.

I then realized that Dr. Ava was problably lying about the fact that they couldn't know that the Grievers were machines, I assumed she though that if they catched one, their atempts to get out of the maze could be much easier, once that the Grievers used in the Maze, unlike Jul, had a navegation device that allowed it to be guided or to guide something until they reached the Cliff, where the exit resides.

Of course they would need to find out some code that Ava told us that lyied in the Maze somehow. I am not really sure of how it could be possible for a person to hide a code in a Maze, but lucky me, I was not the one that had to get out of there in that way.
I decided that my time was still ticking and I needed to start working, so I just grabbed some random tools that where at the pile of stuff used.
I didn't really knew how they kept track of things here, so I would problably ask somebody in the next day.
And with the tools in hand, I started to work on my sleeping creation.
