The Battle/ The Last Goodbye

They screamed as they ran across the wall that became the bridge. They began to kill, and their king lead them in battle. Thorin decided that they were to kill the leader of the enemy. He, Kili, Fili, and Dwalin. Jumped onto Rams, Dwalin grabbed Ledia, who had just pulled her dagger from a head, and put her on the Ram with him. She clung on to him as they rode up the cliff side. They arrived up and began to fight, swords clashing. It began to slow down and they all stood there together looking around. Fili hugged Ledia and she hugged Kili. It was quiet.
"Where is he."
"It looks empty."
"You think Azog has fled?"
"I don't think so." Thorin answered turning around to them.
"Fili, take your brother, scout out the towers. Keep low and out of sight. If you see something, report back, do not engage do you understand?"
"We have company." Dwalin said walking over. "Goblin mercenaries, no more than 100."
"We'll take care of them. Go!" He said to Kili and Fili. Ledia looked at Fili and she grabbed his face and kissed him. He nodded at her and he and Kili ran off. She then turned and began fighting with Dwalin and Thorin. They easily took them down and Thorin walked around impatiently.
"Where is that Orc?" Bilbo came out of nowhere.
"Thorin." He said out of breath.
"Bilbo!"
"You have to leave here now, Azog has another army attacking from the north. Soon we will be surrounded, there will be no way out."
"We are so close, that Orc scum is in there, I say push on." Dwalin said.
"No, that's what he wants. He wants to draw us in." He looked over at Ledia.
"This is a trap."
She looked at him in a panic. He looked at Dwalin.
"Find Kili and Fili, call them back."
"Thorin are you sure about this?"
"Do it, we live to fight another day." They began to walk but then heard a drum. They turned around and say fire light coming from the tower openings. Ledia felt faint as she saw Azog drag Fili. She lost balance and Thorin held her up. They ran over closer to them. Azog spoke in a tongue Ledia didn't understand. He held Fili up as he spoke.
"No." Fili said as Thorin shook his head.
"RUN!" Fili screamed at them just before Azog plunged his hand-sword into Filis' back. Ledia fell to her knees and her sight became fuzzy. She could only focus on his lifeless body fall and hit the stone below, right in front of Kili. Kili ran up to fight.
"NO!" Ledia yelled, tears rolling down her face. She held her stomach in fear of becoming sick. Thorin screamed and ran toward the towers and Dwalin ran after him. Bilbo got Ledia to her feet and drew his sword. She was dazed and he looked her in the eyes.
"We need to go." He said also in a slight daze. She nodded mindlessly, numb to her surroundings. All of a sudden giant bats came screeching over them. He pulled her down. Then Orc began to climb over the wall towards them. Bilbo braced himself and Ledia just stared. One went for her but Dwalin swung his axe just in time. Ledia snapped out of her daze and frantically looked around. She screamed in pure anger and began to fight like Bilbo had never seen before, slaughtering them as he threw rocks. One came around a corner and knocked him out. Ledia finally stopped fighting and looked up. "The Eagles!" She yelled and Dwalin looked up. He cheered. Ledia and Dwalin split up and looked for Thorin and Kili. Ledia went straight for Fili instead. She found him laying on his back. Her tear stained face becoming more and more covered in tears. She got down and lay his head in her lap. She closed his eyes and kissed his forehead. She put two more braids in his hair.
"This braid is for us." She said as if he could hear her. "And this one is for our child. I know not if it will be a boy or girl, but I know they will have your heart and they will know the great man you are." She took his small knives from him and the rings he wore. She left his sword in his hand and placed it on his chest.
"I will return, I must find Kili and your uncle." She got up and shouted for Kili. Legolas found her and stopped her. He looked at her and gestured toward where Tauriel was over his body. Ledia walked over and sat beside her. Tauriel was weeping. Ledia took off one of his gloves and took his rings. She handed one to Tauriel.
"He would want you to have one. Place a braid in his hair." Tauriel took the ring and began to put a braid in his hair. Ledia put a small one in Tauriels hair.
"These will be your bond to one another." She grabbed the braid in her hair that Fili had done. "This is from Fili. He will always be with me. You are my sister now, if you ever need anything, come to us." She took Tauriels hand and placed it on her stomach.
"Our line lives on." Tauriel hugged her and Ledia got up and found the others. They all knelt by Thorins' body. She kissed his forehead and stood. No more tears came from her eyes. She looked over at the others. They all bowed at her.
"My Queen, what do you wish we do?"
Balin said still crying over Thorin.
"We take the bodies and burry them. We then will celebrate the battle won, bring all the humans and Elves who fought with us." They nodded and set off.
Later on they were back in the mountain. Balin was walking with Bilbo. Ledia followed after them, the others followed her. They all stood at the door as Bilbo set off to leave, but he turned around. He laughed lightly at them.
"If any of you are ever passing Bag End, tea is at 4. There's plenty of it. You are welcome anytime. Don't bother knocking." They all laughed and cried. He turned but Ledia stopped him.
"Bilbo, thank you for all you have done for this kingdom. If you ever need anything at all, please send for me. I can't repay you for what you have done for us." She kissed his forehead and smiled and watched as he walked away.
She placed a hand on her stomach which was showing quite a bit. She felt a movement and smiled. Then she felt another movement and placed her had on the other side of her stomach and furrowed her eyebrows. Balin came over and looked at her concerned.
"Is something wrong?"
"We may have lost three Durin sons, but it seems two more will be joining us soon." They smiled at each other and she cried, this time happy tears and returned to the hall to share the celebration with her new kingdom.
