Queen beneath Fili

Years Later

" Kai! Feil!" Ledia stood looking around the dining hall for her children. Dwalin walked over with Kai clinging to his back. Kai looked up at her with his big blue eyes like his father. His hair was brown like his mothers. He had the same nose as his father and Uncle Kili. He was 9 now, and energetic as ever, but smart like his mother.
"Your highness." Dwalin said kidding her forehead and putting down the boy.
"Where is Feil?" She asked Kai holding his hand as she heard a scream from one of her guests.
"Feil!!" She shouted. The little girl popped her head up from underneath the table and laughed. Her blonde hair in braids, and her eyes that were exactly like her mothers, but had the same mischief of her father, beamed.
"Come, it is time to say goodnight to everyone!"
"But mommy!"
"Please!"
"Just a bit longer!"
"I think you have tortured my guests enough." She said smiling down at them. They giggled and waved goodbye to everyone as their mother lead them to their room. She got them changed and tucked them in.
"Mommy, tell me a story about Daddy." Feil said with her sweet little voice.
"And Kili!" Kai said excitedly.
"A new one or one you've heard?"
"Tell us about your journey again mommy! It's been so long since you've told us, I hardly remember." Feil said closing her eyes.
"Yes, with the Elves and Gandalf and The Hobbit!" Kai said bouncing.
"Alright, alright settle down." She said, "Well it all started with Gandalf telling us to go to Hobbiton and find a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins."
She told them her story, they listened quietly.
"And that's how we got our home back. Everyone fought, even me, I was pregnant with you two at the time."
"Did daddy know?" Kai had fallen asleep sometime during her talking about all the walking. Feil lay with her mothers arms around her.
"No, your father never knew. I don't regret not telling him, it would have made it harder for me."
"Tell me about Daddy again." Feil closed her eyes so she could imagine him.
"Well. He was a little bit taller than me, you have the same color hair as him, but your brother has his eyes and nose. You both share his mischievous side, but you are both gentle, like he was." She had her eyes closed too, but tears came down her face.
"Mommy, did you love him dearly?" Feil asked looking up at her mother and wiping away a tear.
"Yes, very much so. I can still hear his voice calling to me. I feel him within me. He was my very best friend." She said looking down at her child, "He loves you, you know that?"
Feil nodded.
"Do you think daddy would like to spend time with me?"
"Your father would have spoiled you rotten like he did me. You would have loved your uncle Kili, he was such fun. And your Uncle Thorin, he can seem grumpy, but you would have had him wrapped around your little pinky." Feil smiled and looked at her pinky. Ledia kissed her on the head.
"Sweet dreams my love." She then kissed Kai on his head and closed the door. She walked to her chambers. She lay in her bed and closed her eyes. She could see Fili. Every detail of him was still there as if she had seen him moments before. She fell asleep and dreamed of him, like she did every night. Her dreams were the place where she and Fili were reunited night after night, the dreams so real, and her family was as it should have been.
