A few months passed. Gandalf had Bilbo climb up rock you were hiding behind. You were on Fili's back because your legs hurt from walking.
"What did you see?" Gandalf inquired.
"An Orc pack not far" he answered
"Fantastic" you say as Fili puts you down. He holds you close. You smile as he kisses your forehead.
"There is something else out there." Bilbo said.
"What do you mean? There isn't anything else out there but the Orc pack." Thorin says rather irritated
"You're not listening to me." Bilbo spits back.
"What form did it take?" Gandalf asked, "was it a bear?"
Gandalf knows something you think to yourself.
"What? A bear. Yes. But much bigger. How did you know?" Bilbo answers puzzled.
"That is Beorn. He is a shape shifter. He is the one we are to seek shelter with." Gandalf answers calmly.
"Is he friend or foe?" Thorin asks taking the words out of all of your mouths.
"He is Neither." Gandalf answers
"That is not comforting." Thorin answers.
"Quickly, we must move. We can't stand here all night. Now this way." Gandalf says turning and you all run after him.
"I hear howling getting closer!" You yell as you run into a clearing where there is a house. Kili is pulling Bomber trying to make him run faster. You are pulling Fili behind you, running as fat as you can. Your legs and lungs burning. You hear a loud growl. You look back and see a giant bear emerge to the clearing as well. It is picking up speed. You just make it into the doors before someone gets nipped. They lock the doors. You basically collapse onto the floor. You are out if breath. You begin laughing and Thorin darts you a stern look. You stop but it reminded you of when you used to run around with Kili and Fili terrorizing your mothers.
"Everyone get some rest." Thorin tells everyone. You don't move and Fili comes and picks you up and carries you to where he and Kili want to sleep. You soon drift into sleep.
"She started it!" Kili and Fili yell in unison pointing to the girl between them.
You all stood there covered in mud. You were all wearing your new dress your mother made you. Your mother looks at you disappointed with her arms crossed. The boys mother looked unimpressed at her two sons also covers in mud.
"That's a lie!" You say tackling them and punching them, not to hard. You all laugh and they fight back.
"Stop it you three." Your mothers say and tear you off of each other. You stick your tongues at them as you are dragged in two different directions.
"What am I going to do with you?" Your mother asks. You shrug.
"It really wasn't my fault. I just wanted to show Kili and Fili's mom how lovely I looked and the boys saw me first and I twirled to show them the dress, and I slipped in the mud. They laughed, so I threw mud at them. Next thing I knew we were wrestling. I was winning before their mother came out." You cross your arms. Your mother sighs.
"You must learn to be a lady. You're expected to be a queen." Your mother says as she behind to help you out of the ruined dress.
"I know mother. But that's going to be in a long time. Let me be a kid. I don't want to live in Layla's shadow forever." You say it and immediately regret it.
"Mother I'm sorry I didn't mean it." You hug her as she cried. She pulls away.
"It's ok Ledia. You are just all I have now." You smile at her. It had been a month since your older sister Layla had died. You all grieved. The last time you saw Thorin was at the funeral. There he hugged you and cried with you. That was the worst birthday you had ever had. You turned 16, and it was the last time you would see Thorin until the journey. The day after the mud incedent, you were taken by the orcs.
You woke up. Everyone was still sleeping. You roll over and lay your head on Fili's chest. The dream was the last memory you had with Kili and Fili. You smiled as you drifted back to sleep.
