There was a knock on the door before it slides open. "Jom lunch sayang.", Mama said politely and close the door after. Diana looks at the clock on her left. 1pm, time for lunch. Ifkar is still in bed, dozing off unaware of Mama's invitation. Diana went to sit on the bed next to the sleeping figure.
She tapped him on his shoulder. Gently. "Awak jom makan." He didn't move. She shakes him harder. Then his head turns toward her. A sleepy smile plastered on his face. "Hmm what ?" He asked lazily.
"Makan." Diana cocked her head to the side gesturing to the doors.
"Okay." Ifkar sits up. His hand holds hers in her lap. He looks up at her eyes and smiled. She replied the smile with a same one but maybe a bit more sheepish because her eyes smiles too. He didn't let go of her hands when he walks to the door, going downstairs.
"Hey Ma. Hmm sedapnya bau. Mama masak apa ni ?", Ifkar dah duduk check lauk.
Ada ayam masak merah, sayur masak lemak and sambal belacan. Simple dish. Mama sure do know how to eat healthy and not to over do. Masak banyak banyak bukan ramai pun yang makan kat rumah tu. Papa usually had his lunch dekat office. Mama and Mak Jah are the only one available kat rumah. Tu pun kalau Mama takde charity event to attend.
"Masak biasa biasa je Ifkar." Mama replied humbly. Yes it is simple dish but full of love. She sit opposite Ifkar, Diana next to him. Diana ceduk sesenduk nasi for herself, one and a half for Ifkar. He need to eats more tapi Diana tak nak fatten up her husband. Sayang kalau hensem tapi boroi.
Before they start eating, Ifkar read aloud doa sebelum makan. Then only they eat. Makan kalau tak baca Bismillah, tu makan dengan syaitan.
After the meal, endless pujian for masakan mama ensues. Ifkar knows how to ambil hati Mama. But of course, he was just stating the truth.
Diana on the other hand was annoyed sebab Mama kutuk she doesn't know how to cook and Ifkar doesn't defend her. Nonetheless she enjoyed the meal. Bab makan mana boleh lawan. Food makes her happy. But she never forget to eat in moderation. Too many Malaysians are unhealthy because of poor dietary habit.
After the meal, both of them helped cleaning up. Ifkar and Diana cuci pinggan while Mama simpan leftover and lap meja.
They loaded the car with wedding gifts after and bid their farewell.
Mama was glad her daughter and husband seems happy. She was worried about them. But they look fine. And it's not yet a month. What else can happen in a month.

"Ifkar, your phone is ringing non stop dari tadi. Pick it up !", Diana jerit dari ruang tamu. Still ringing. She went into his room to find his screaming phone. Ifkar is still in the middle of showering and from the sound of it he won't come out any time soon.
Caller ID says it's an unknown number. Slide to answer.
"If-Ifkar." A sobbing lady was heard on the other line. Siapa pulak ni. Diana kinda terkejut angkat angkat je terus dengar perempuan nangis. Eh biar betul. But yes the sobbing voice did ask for Ifkar.
She listened again to the sound. Yep, a crying lady. Calling my husband. At night, 10pm. Okay.
"Ifkar currently tak available. Can I take your mess-", Diana's answer was interrupted by a hand from behind grabbing the phone away.
"Hello. Oh hey hey kenapa ni ?", Ifkar sounded worried while glancing at Diana. He turns away from her.
"Okay. Okay calm down.", he coaxed the person on the other line. Diana was irritated at the way he talks. Too.. Too kind maybe ? Too gentle. Since it's a crying lady okay maybe fine.
