That morning Diana was home alone. She had the day off for her post call and Ifkar is expected to be home around 6. She got bored being alone at home and the lack of sleep is already well compensated. After nimble calculation, she changed into her swimming outfit.
The swimwear, a black and yellow suit, covers much of her trunk but still non syariah-compliant. It was tight and accentuates her curves. She hopes the pool for Soho residence would be lacking of people since it's weekdays. She brought along her fluffy bathrobe with her.
The sun was bright and blinding but to her suprise, she felt it unblazing. Like a bright star but with cold hue. She's satisfied to discover that the situation was as predicted. Not a single human seen hanging around the pool. She choose a seat closest to the pool and lay her bathrobe on it. It fell carelessly slipping from her finger forming a slump of fluffy whiteness covering her set of keys underneath.
As she dip her feet into the cold water, her mind wander to home. Not the home levels above her head. It's the home she grew up with that she misses. She wonders if her mom and dad is okay. If they are healthy. Of what they are doing at the exact moment. She figures to give them a call but alas, she left her phone 17 levels above; where she and Ifkar resides.
She thinks about what to be done after her lone swimming session. She did the chores of washing clothes, folding, sweeping, dusting, changing the sheets and almost everything. Well, that was the perks of having a messed up sleeping pattern.
After her on-call, she either slept like the angel had took her soul away or she couldn't sleep because of the extreme fatigue. Then she would do more work to tires herself and when the sleepiness kicks in, she'd have her well deserved long awaited deep sleep.
Diana only managed two laps in the pool before she choked on the water and gave up swimming. Her eyes bloodshot red and her nasopharynx stings. She smelled the chlorine and away went her last determination to be a better swimmer.
She read somewhere that the smell of chlorine and pool hygiene is paradoxical. The stronger the scent of chlorine, the dirtier is the water. Knowing that public pool is a source of keratoconjunctivitis, Diana wraps both her body and the session.
She spend the rest of her day watching kdramas, and relaxing, waiting for Ifkar to be home.
