CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE
"What are you doing for your birthday?" I asked Lee as we sat in his house studying. He looked up from his book and shrugged.
"I don't know yet. I was kind of thinking beach party. But it's February and there isn't many sunny days or warm nights." He explained spinning his pen in his hand.
"Why not just have a normal party at your house? Are your parents not away next weekend?"
It's surprising how time disappears when you have exams coming up. And for the past month, nothing I've done has made Sean break up with me. I'm always studying on my own or mostly which Lee. Which I know annoys him because it means I'm spending most of my afternoons with Lee. He wants me to studying, but he'd rather me study alone. And I'm pretty sure he's pissed off I'm in tutoring with Paul every other day after school. But we actually were doing work, which I didn't think we would do a lot of actually. So that pissed him off as well. And I only really went out with him once a week to town or something. He's also been helping me with a Business Studies revision, as he passed it with the top grade. And Lee's good at it but not as good as Sean, and Mr Craig can't help me with everything. I'm just pretty surprised he hasn't broken up with me yet.
"How do you do this type of account?" Lee asked turning his book towards me. I looked down at the page before smiling.
"Sean told me that. You divide both sides of the ratio by the cost of current liabilities." He nodded before working out the answer.
"So how is Sean with you studying all the time?" He asked as we still worked.
"He wants me to study just not with you," he snorted making me roll my eyes. "He also wanted to go out today and didn't sound too happy when I told him I was studying. I just don't see the point in pissing him off anymore when he's clearly not going to break up with me. It's been a months and I've gone out with him four or five times and he's helped me with homework. I'm just not in the mood to do it anymore." He looked up at me and smiled slightly.
"He's bound to do something eventually. It might be easier if you didn't have the worry of Williams though." I tilted my head to the side confused. "I just mean maybe you guys should take a break until the exams are over and you've finished school. I just think you're doing all this for him. If you guys were on a break, you might find it easier to go through with all of this. I sort of feel that you're worried about everything you do with Sean because you think Sean will hurt Williams. So maybe you don't really want Sean to break up with you in case he still hurts Williams." He said with a small smile, but nervously fiddling with his pen.
"So do you think I should tell him that? Tell him that I can't do all this while I'm still with him." He shrugged and looked down at the table. "Do you know how crushed he would be?" He nodded slightly while looking back up at me.
"Just tell him while you're trying to get Sean to dump you and until after your exams, you'll feel better if you guys weren't together. He would understand Ray. It might make you realise whether you want to piss Sean off."
He did have a point. Sometimes I want to stop doing this because I start to think it's not going to happen. But then I start to think about Paul and then I continue doing it. It might be easier to figure out what to do if I wasn't with Paul.
"I don't know," I said leaning back in my chair and running my hands through my hair.
"I just think it'll take a lot of pressure from your shoulders. The exams can be too much pressure alone." I sighed and lowered my hands while looking at him. "And you'll always have me." I laughed and shook my head at him.
"And as much as I love you," I said tidying my books up. "I have to get home," he looked at the clock and nodded. I put my books in my bag as I stood up. We walked to his front door and he let me out first.
