This is my first reader insert, hope you enjoy it. To avoid any confusion, (male name) means that the character needs a male name as well as a female name.

Chapter One: Criminal Act?!

"Put that back, thief!" Said a stern female voice from behind you.

You turned around to see Lily shaking in fear as a woman, with scarlet red hair and dark brown eyes, towered over her. You ran as fast as you could and took a defensive stance in front of the frightened Exceed, who then dropped the apple she had taken from a nearby stall.

"Leave her alone, I'm going to pay for that." You said as Lily clung to your leg.

"Go on then, pay for it." The red-haired woman said, calling your bluff.

She wore a custom made armor by Heart Kreuz smiths, a dark blue skirt and black boots.

"Er, we-well you see." You stuttered.

"So you don't have the money, I'm sorry but that's a criminal act." She said as she jumped backwards.

You briefly saw a guild marking on her left forearm as she summoned a large silver sword in her hand.

"I'm in for it now." You said under your breath.

"(Nickname) watch out, she belongs to a guild." Warned Lily as she let go of your leg and hid behind a crate.

"I don't want to fight, isn't there anyway which I can pay, manual labour, anything?" You asked.

"If you can defeat me, then I'll gladly pay for you." Said the scarlet haired woman, smirking.

It was a fair deal but you didn't want to risk hurting yourself or Lily. Just as you were about to protest, a small old man appeared in between the two of you.

"Erza, now isn't the time to be fighting random people. Please go back to the guild while I have a word with this young man." He spoke as his voice croaked while gesturing at you.

"Yes Master." She said before walking away.

The crowd moved out of her way, staring in awe.

"Come on Lily." You said as you scooped her up in your arms and turned to walk away.

"Wait, if you need food, you are welcome at the Fairy Tail guild." The old man said.

You stopped but didn't turn around to face him.

Fairy Tail, the past most strongest guild in the kingdom of Fiore, who was famous for taking things to far and destroying everything.

You had to keep going, you had to get rid of the curse on Lily and yourself, it would kill you both if you didn't.

"We really can't." You said.

"Please (Nickname), I'm hungry and tired." Lily said as she looked up at you with pleading puppy eyes.

The old man walked up to you and pulled you down to his height by your collar.

"I know about the curse on your Exceed. I may know a way to lift it off her and yourself." He whispered in your ear.

Your eyes widened.

"How do you know about that? How do I know that I can trust you?" You whispered back.

"Well I'm the Master of Fairy Tail, whats not to trust? And, I have my ways of finding these things out" He said, dragging you along by the collar.

You had no option but to follow him while trying not to drop the worn out Exceed in your arms. You tried not to get lost, after the old man had released you, through the crowded city but ended up losing the old man.

'I could use this chance to get out of this town' you thought mentally.

"This way." the old man said as he sat on a wall above your head.

You jumped at the sound of his voice. He then stood up and carefully walked along the wall. You thought that he would surely fall so you got ready to react if he did.

"Just because I'm old, doesn't mean I'm going to fall." He spoke just loud enough for you to hear.

You didn't say anything in case you offended him so you ended up walking in an awkward silence. Eventually you came up to a run down old tavern with a flag with the guild mark on it.

"This is our current guild headquarters." Said the old man pointing to the building.

"This place looks like a pile of crap!" You exclaimed without thinking.

You then received a thump over the back of your head.

"It's only temporary, since me and the Tenrou Team went missed, our guild has gone bankrupt so they had to give up our old building." said the old man.

"I heard about that but I didn't know you guys were back." You said quietly.

"We've been back for quite a while now." He said as he face-palmed himself.

"Oh, well welcome back." You said as you smiled widely.

"A bit late don't you think." He said.

He then walked up to the doors, gesturing a few times for you to follow. In the end you did. The doors opened as you stared in awe.

This chapter was mainly just to tell you how you got to the Fairy Tail guild. In the next chapter, you'll be getting introduced to the members of Fairy Tail. Hope you enjoy x
