~The Idiot Ninja
Eyes fluttering open, you were greeted by the stern face of Laxus, whose attention seemed preoccupied with the Exceed who was prancing around on the arm of the sofa. Pushing yourself to sit up, you shoved backwards, slamming hard into the wall in shock. The males eyes darted to you.
"Oh, (Name)...you're up." He said simply.
"What are you doing here?" You asked him suddenly, slowly standing up, dusting yourself off.
"Well Lily here, came and told me that you had collapsed. So I came to come check on you." He spoke, as the said Exceed hopped into his arms.
"Actually, I went to the guild, and Laxus was the only one who noticed me." She corrected.
You slumped down on the sofa, sighing loudly.
"So they hate me that much, huh?" You mumbled softly, as Lily gently nuzzled her nose into your hand.
"I wouldn't say they hate you. They're just shocked. They feel betrayed." Laxus spoke up, attempting to catch the end of Lily's swiftly moving tail.
Groaning lightly, you grumbled, "I know I know. I should have told them in the beginning."
The blond male nodded in agreement.
"How'd you take it?" You asked him, eagerly sitting up to get his answer.
"There was nothing to take in." He chuckled, deep in concentration of catching the tail which Lily purposefully moved around in order to tease him.
"W-what do you mean?" You questioned, furrowing your eyebrows.
"My memories better than you think it is, child." Laxus scoffed, finally catching the tail.
"Y-you remember?!" Was the next question you threw his way.
First he began to laugh before mockingly saying, "Of course I remember. You were so small, and adorable. You looked like such a cry baby."
A pink tint covered your cheeks as you barked, "I was not a cry baby!", sitting with your arms crossed at your chest, pouting lightly, Laxus chuckled once more, amused by your expression. Abruptly, you stood up.
"Well, I'm not a child anymore. I don't need anyone's help." You muttered softly, making your way to the desk once more, picking up unread sheets of paper and also the two crystal flower charms.
"Yea yea. You say that, and later you'll be begging for my help." He said with a smug expression.
Scowling at him, you slumped down on the floor, laying the two crystal flowers parallel to each other in front of you. Reading the sheets of paper carefully, you began to rehearse the words which needed to be spoken.
"Um Laxus-san. Please don't let her use her magic just yet. She hasn't regained enough strength." Lily whispered gently in the blond males ear.
Raising an eyebrow, Laxus tapped you on your shoulder, catching your attention.
"You're not exactly a good host are you? You're meant to look after the guest, not ignore them." He spoke, gesturing to your frame which was turned away from him.
"I'm not here to host. This isn't my house, you're Lucy's guest not mine." You retorted, turning back to your business.
"You're not going to stop her by doing a petty thing like that Laxus-san." Lily whispered once again, elbowing him gently.
The blond rolled his eyes at the Exceed, tapping on his chin a few times, thinking of a plan as you began to cast the spell. Your hands were hovering a few centimetres above the crystal flowers, your eyebrows were furrowed as you gently spoke the ancient dialect.
He began to panic slightly, which he usually never did. Without thinking, he grabbed a hold of your shoulders, pulling you backwards, away from the charms. You were met by the flustered face of Laxus, who's face hovered inches above your own. He seemed to be caught in a daze, you took this as an opportunity to sit back up and get back to the charms but as you did so, you were once again, pulled back down. This time, your lips were met with another pair.
'Laxus....is...kissing me?!?!' You thought mentally.
They were rough yet soft, and warm. After a few seconds, your lips disconnected from Laxus. Your face was burning as your lip gently quivered, hiding it with your hand as you abruptly sat up, banging heads with the blond male. Lily was speechless, gently smiling, but shocked.
"I-i need to go....bye." Laxus quickly said, standing up and retreating to the door, not meeting eyes with you.
He left, leaving you in silence with the presence of Lily. You didn't dare to move, you were still overwhelmed by the shock of his sudden actions, your heart was still racing, beating and attacking your ribs.
~An Hour Later~
Finally managing to calm yourself down, you moved, allowing Lily to feel less awkward. You waddled to the bathroom, not to hide away this time. You turned the tap of the sink, splashing at your face with the water. It ran over your skin, tingling as it dripped off of the end of your nose. You felt stronger, well that was of coarse due to the fact your skin had absorbed some of the water.
"Gah!" You grunted, slinking back over to the spot on the floor you were previously in.
Sitting down, you continued to do what you had originally began to do. As before, your hands were hovering over the two crystal flower charms, speaking the same unknown words. After twenty minutes had passed, you still had concentration plastered across your face. Suddenly the two charms began to rise from the floor, you moved your hands, following them. The flower petals were open, alive, like a freshly picked plant. But they began to close up. Around them, light blue trails of glittering specks of water, danced around them, diving into the charms centres as the petals folded up, becoming an unbloomed flower.
As you partook in this, you felt your body aching in pain. Visibly, your body violently shook. You yearned to cry out in pain but you knew you'd have to do this anyway. You were motivated to see it through, for the sake of Lily and for yourself.
Once the charms had completely closed, they dropped to the floor. Their colour changed, it wasd now dull and bleak yet they were outlined with a blue glow. Resting against the sofa, you let out an exhausted sigh, picking the charms up.
"Lil...Come over here." You muttered, panting slightly.
She did as you said, with a concerned worried smile on her face. You took one of the charms and pinned it to her top. She was wearing something new today. A light pale green vest with a darker green skirt. You smiled at her appearance.
"Don't take it off. Not until you can fly properly again. Okay?" You murmured, patting her head gently.
"Okay (Nickname). I won't." She grinned once she knew you was okay.
"That's my girl." Patting her head once more, she hopped into your arms, hugging you tightly.
'What am I getting myself into? Laxus..of all people. I didn't even think he remembered me. I can't believe it.' You thought you yourself.
Laxus Afterthought:
What did I do that for? I guess it did stop her but...was it too much? I hope she doesn't hate me. Damn, I'm glad she knows that I remember her. It makes me happy that she realized I know her. I can maybe even use what I remember tease her a bit more, her reaction was quite cute. This could be my advantage, the others don't know (Name) like I do, she'll feel safe with me unlike with them. This has worked out much better than I expected.
