"KI HONG LEE"

"What the fracking hell Olivia Kar Lee, I'm in a middle of a press conference I told you not to disturb me until ten pm didn't I? What on earth-"

"Look," Olivia sighed,"I know this press conference is really important to you but I've something even more important than your stupid press conference."

"Alright hold on." Ki Hong mumbled something to his manager and went out of the room to continue his conversation with his sister.

"Shoot." He said.

"Um by any chance do you still remember your ex girlfriend? I know you only had one but just making sure you didn't forget, its been years now"

"Of course I do, Did she call or anything?"

"She didn't call. She just happened to be my patient, at San Jose General Hospital. The thing is I told her to take surgery, and after she recognised me she said she would-"

"Take surgery?"

"Nope. She wanted to see you before she goes for surgery but according to the hospital regulations she needs a her parents or spouse to sign together with her but she doesn't have a spouse. Mr and Mrs Fang moved to Berkeley after losing contact with her."

"Are you telling me to..."

"No no no no!! I'm not forcing you to do anything. Though Mom and Dad would be so happy, and so will I. But it's seriously what I've been looking forward for years. Don't be too happy, because she doesn't know her survival rate is lower than 10 percent."

"What did you tell her."

"I told her she was a fifty"

"Oh my," he muttered under his breath.

"Look, I really want to help her and the best way I can do it is to tell her she's going to be okay, and find the best surgeons in town."

"I'll fly in by dawn."

"Thank you Ki Hong."

----------------

Ki Hong's POV:

I immediately called off the press conference, after all it didn't matter anymore to me. What was now more important than my career, my job, is Jessie.

I was struggling in my thoughts, for years I wanted to marry her, for years I've always wanted to be her one and only, and til now I knew that she was the only one who stayed so special even though we lived in different worlds for the past seven years.

The truth is, I still loved her.

Healthy or sick, rich or poor.

And I'm going to do what I wanted to do, for once and for all. Here's my chance.

I booked a 2am ticket to San Jose, and went to see if I could get a ring.

Walking about the soon to close mall, a ring on display caught my eye. The intricate designs told me that Jessie would never put it off as soon as she says yes. I chuckled at that thought.

An old woman walked up to me and asked, "Late night shopping for a ring?"

I nodded.

"She must be very special to you."

I nodded again.

"Very," I whispered.

"I own this place. Why don't you come in and perhaps I'll sell it to you at a reasonable price so you can propose to the lucky girl as soon as possible?" She offered.
