It's harder to find recruits than Darwin and I previously thought. We've encountered Rogue after Rogue and all they want is money or power. Which we don't have either of. Darwin and I have grown closer together. Now we talk about everything and anything. He's actually letting us use his debit card to eat at a diner so I was relieved.

I sipped the black coffee quietly, examining Darwin attack his mountain of pancakes. It was actually quite comical.

"What do we do now?" I ask him. He looks at me as he swallows his gulp of pancake.

"Keep going. We can't have a day off."

"I'm exhausted," I complain.

"I know. So am I but this is going to get tough. I'm surprised we haven't run into trouble as of yet." He laughs loudly and I notice we gather the attention of two men in the corner of the room. One meets my eyes but I turn back to Darwin who is on his next to the last pancake.

"Any camps near here?"

"Seeing as how we're right on the edge of a pack, I don't think so." He brushes off my question with a twirl of his hand as he examined the menu for more food. I rolled my eye. I, wasn't feeling well but Darwin on the other hand could eat a horse if he wanted to and everything on this menu then have room for seconds.

We hadn't eaten anything other than stuff from the convenience store which mainly consisted of chips, poorly made sandwiches and Slim Jims. Oh Goddess, how I loved Slim Jims. I had an unhealthy addiction. The hot food had helped ease my appetite for something better than mean sandwiches.

I noticed that the men in the corner were standing up and walking towards us. The exit and bathroom were on the opposite side from where we were so there was no logical explanation such as why they were heading this way.

"Refill?" The waitress's sudden approach made me jump. I clutched my chest and laughed.

"Didn't mean to get a scare on ya!" She chuckled, motioning towards the coffee pot she was carrying around to refill people's cups.

"Can I get some more?" I pushed my coffee cup closer to her. Glancing around her I saw the two men at the counter but they looked at me, meeting my eyes. The waitress filled up my cup and turned to Darwin.

"Would you like anything else, sir?"

"Do you have pie?" He asked.

"Why yes we do. Blueberry or apple?"

"Apple," Darwin smiled at her lovingly. She left for a moment and came back with Darwin's slice of pie. She placed it in front of him and smiled, "You two are too cute. You remind me of my husband and me a long, long time ago. How long have you been together?" She asks. I meet eyes with Darwin and he grins at me before answering.

"What? We've known each other for how long, babe? Four months?"

"Seems about right." I shrugged.

"Been the best four months of my life,"

"Ah! Oh my gosh that is just so cute!" The waitress gushed and walked off to serve a family that just walked in.

I kept an expectant eye on the two strangers but they were laughing with the waitress serving them. I turned to Darwin and rolled my eyes.

"You made that poor old woman's day by lying to her," I shook my head at him.

"I never said we were in a relationship, Bay." He coincided, folding his arms across his chest. I admired the way his muscles rippled by the normal movement.

"I suppose she shouldn't jump to conclusions," I shrugged.

"Maybe we should insinuate that we're in a relationship... if were not."
