No, no, of course not! Well, I guess it can be seen as being bait, but I assure you, you will be perfectly safe," The man ran a hand through his graying hair and I fought the urge to roll my eyes. I was being used as bait so they could capture Harry.

"If I agree to it, I want it on my conditions,"

"Done," He slammed his fist on the table.

Someone handed me a pen and I scrawled my name on the piece of thin paper. Cheers erupted around the room and the Alpha passed out champagne but I didn't take any. Louie bent over my shoulder and asked me how I felt about it.

"Indifferent, I suppose." To be honest, all I wanted to do was get away from these men. In my time of need, they didn't bother helping but now that Harry is murdering Werewolves, they care.

Two weeks earlier...

"So... This is where it'll happen," I murmured to myself though Louie stood beside me, holding my hand. He didn't speak, all he did was squeeze my hand reassuringly. I leaned into Darwin's side and he wrapped a supportive arm around my waist.

I examined the landscape before us in disdain. You would think that with such an important task this place would be... something. However, it was nothing pretty. Nothing extraordinary whatsoever with the clearing. It was protected, out of sight. Near enough to the pack but far enough to be clear of speculation. If this didn't work (though I was reassured multiple times by the Council that it would work) I was supposed to be everyone's number one person to get out of the clearing because it wouldn't be safe for me.

"You'll stand here," Darwin instructed as he stood where I was supposed to, "Alpha Martin will come through those trees-"

"How do you know that?"

Darwin hesitated, "He's lost most of his humanity so he's relying on his primal animal instincts. We're going to have some Werewolves around the perimeter of the clearing to assure that he will enter through those trees,"

I nodded, though I doubted it would work.

"So, where are you going to be?"

"In the trees, we'll have something to mask our scent, don't worry. This will work, I promise Bay." Darwin whispered, rubbing my head and messing up my hair.

One week earlier...

"And you're sure this'll work?" I asked, unsure. I didn't feel any different.

"Positive," the Luna smiled.

"I don't feel... anything,"

"It's a force field only I can enable. We can test it out now if you'd like?" She raised a thin eyebrow at me and pulled back her hair. She motioned for Louie to stand up and come over. She nodded for him to try to touch me and he did. His hand hit something hard and when he tried again I could see the white barrier between us. It was like when you pushed too hard on your monitor screen.

"Wow," I murmured.

"Now try," the Luna said.

Louie reached slowly, expecting to hit the barrier but his hand caught air. He smiled at me and raised his eyebrows, "See? What did I tell you? It's all going to work out?"

The Luna smiled and brought her palm to her face, "Dang it, Louie. I forgot some important herbs in the greenhouse would you be a dear and fetch them? They're in a satchel by the door."
