I sat on the stairs of the pack house, sulking. Darwin was leaving to go negotiate a treaty and alliance with some of the other packs the Alpha had mentioned. The sun was beating down on me harshly and despite the abnormally hot weather, I wasn't going inside. Darwin didn't and wouldn't allow me to go because of my "frail and fragile state." Right about now I think that slamming my face against some brick blocks would be more appealing than watching Darwin leave me. I knew he could take care of himself but I was going to be left alone. Well, Louie would be here but no one I really knew and could confide in. Maybe Ellie would be up for a GNO.
Darwin walked up the steps and pulled me into his chest. His cologne tickled my nostril passages as I breathed deeply in an attempt to memorize him. At the most he'd be gone a week. A week too long, in my own opinion. And he was leaving me to deal with the Alpha all by myself.
"Be good and don't strain yourself." His fingers traced my cheekbone and my breathing picked up when his thumb traced my bottom lip, "No stress,"
"I'm being left alone, Darwin." I insisted angrily.
"Look, you'll be safe here. I don't want us to get in the middle of a fight and something happen to our little girl," While he was talking his hands dropped to my flat stomach to caress it. My heart sped up and I gripped his forearms, "Little girl?" I inclined.
Darwin shrugged and grinned, "Yes. I've had a feeling it's a girl," he admitted a light blush coating his cheeks. I knew what sex the baby was. It was a boy. The Goddess had told me so but if him thinking it was a girl made him happy, I'd go along with it.
"Go," I pushed on his shoulder and grinned, "Hurry up and come back to your girls,"
Darwin laughed and hugged me tightly before kissing me on the forehead and departing. I went back inside and decided to go shower. I got to my room and was surprised when the door clicked shut behind me without my touch. I turned around to see Louie, black eyed. Without letting me assess the situation, he stepped forward and pulled me to his chest. His hands ran up and down my back while his face was hid in my hair. A deep warmth set in my body igniting my dead veins. I found I had placed my hands along his waist.
"I hate when you smell of him," his deep voice growled out.
My heart stopped as he began to lead my body backwards. It had only been a day since Louie had shown up and it was already wreaking havocs on my soul, mind, and physical state. I couldn't cooperate correctly in front of him. I felt something solid behind me to find Louie had backed me into a wall. The idea of being trapped was strangely alluring.
"He is my mate," I whispered, a slash inflicting my heart. Even saying Darwin would be my mate hurt. Louie chuckled as he rested his face in my shoulder. Louie started sucking on my skin, moving every few moments. A painful jolt of electricity snapped me out of my lust filled haze. Louie began to suck on Harry's mark, causing my body to curl under the pain. So in a way I went towards him. To make the pain go away I pushed on his chest angrily.
"Yet you wear another's mark," Louie teased.
"My mate, I mean my destined mate used me. He wanted an heir and wouldn't allow me to step up and be Luna,"
"Did you really want it though?"
"Want what?" I questioned.
"To be a Luna," Louie pushed my hair back and planted a kiss on my navel. I thought about it. Did I really want to govern a pack of full blooded wolves who hated me? No. Did I want the responsibility? No. Could have I handed it? No. Could someone else do a better job? Yes.
