The tension was thick in the air as Darwin trailed his hand up and down my exposed arm as if to reassure himself (or his Wolf) that I was still there. He was breathing heavily in my ear and I could feel his heart pounding hard under his naked chest. Though I wasn't looking at him, I was staring at Louie who was meeting my gaze. I just wanted to go over there and hug him and thank him for saving my life but Darwin was keeping me rooted to my spot.

Louie's Wolf doesn't do him justice. Everything about him screamed beauty and trust me, he looked pretty banged up. His hair was tangled and matted and his hard jaw line and stone cold gaze screamed danger but it was alluring to me. I had never seen someting so magnicient. Even with Harry it was never this... this alluring and mesmerizing at a first look. Louie was looking at Darwin's arm intensely as he stood in the lining of the trees with his fists clinched. After a few moments Louie seemed to control his self as he examined the area around them. He quirked a thick eyebrow and a small smile tickled at the edges of his lips.

"I interrupt something?" He met my eyes for a moment before they stayed on his brother.

"You did," Darwin said between his teeth.

I stared at Louie trying to see if he remembered me but he gave no clarification if so. My scar on my torso itched and burned as I stared at him. Louie and Darwin were having a stare down as I ogled at him. Finally Louie cracked and a smile spread across his face, "Don't I get a hug, little brother or are you trying to act all manly for your woman?" Louie snipped and Darwin hesitantly let go of me, stepping forward and embracing his brother in a tight and awkward hug.

I stood alone as Louie stared at me with his head on Darwin's shoulder. He analyzed me carefully before pulling away from his brother and looking at the area in disdain, "You trying to be romantic?" He sneered. Darwin ran a hand through his hair as I stood there awkwardly. Louie walked over to where the fire was and poked it with a stick.

"What are you doing here Lou?" Darwin asked directly as he attempted to pack up. I straightened my dress because I knew that tonight was ruined. I breathed in through my nostrils only for a rusty taste to drip down the back of my throat. I brought my hand up to my nose to see the familiar color red staining my porcelain skin. At the same moment I started to call Darwin's name both of their heads snapped towards me. Darwin brought the quilt that laid on the ground and pushed it to my nose but Louie just stared at me with black eyes and with his nostrils flaring as he stole deep breaths of air.

Louie's black eyes met mine and I knew he remembered me. Well, he remembered my scent of blood. That was enough for me, "Let's get you back. Lou, c'mon." Darwin instructed and I let him lead me forward with Louie following closely behind. Darwin kept a supportive arm around my waist as we hurried back to the pack house. Once inside he picked me up after I complained of getting dizzy and took me to our room. He laid me on the bed and covered me up with a sheet before going into the bathroom to come out with two wash cloths. One wet and one dry. He pulled at the quilt and I laid it to the side. With a steady hand he began wiping away at the dried blood. After a moment he paused and saw that I was clean. He took the dry one and wiped off the wetness. "Lou, I need you to go get the doctor." Darwin instructed, fluffing the pillows behind me and trying to make me comfortable.

"Dar, he doesn't know his way around," I mentioned. Darwin bit his lip and nodded, leaning forward to kiss my forehead before almost running out of the room to find the doctor.

"You get nosebleeds a lot?" Louie asked, sitting down on a chair in the corner.

"Recently," I shrugged. Louie looked around, his foot tapping against the hard wood floor. I felt a headache coming on.

"Wonder why," He pursed his lips as he examined me with his eyes. I could probably tell he was judging my appearance. I probably looked paler than usual, a little disheveled. I didn't give him an answer, I just shrugged and looked off towards the open windows. This was the man who had saved my life when Jaye was literally an inch away from stealing it. This man was my savior. I didn't want him to think he had saved me for nothing. I didn't want him to think of me as weak. Louie was fully blooded which made no sense that him and Darwin were brothers. Darwin was a Half like me and had never mentioned a brother before.

"Bay..." he whispered and I looked at him curiously. Louie seemed to be nervous because he was wringing his hands and his foot still hadn't stopped tapping. Suddenly he dropped to his knees and crawled over to my bed where he gently took my hand. My heart is in hyper drive as he kisses at my knuckles, "I'm happy I found you when I did, if I had been a moment later then what I'm about to do wouldn't be possible," he licked his lips and crawled on top of the bed so his body is beside mine. He places his hand behind my neck and pulls my face towards his own.

I didn't complain when he kissed me. In fact, I embraced it, pulling him closer. A sudden rush filled my body and my toes crinkle in excitement as Louie's mouth opens gates of pleasure I've never been allowed to enter. But before I'm allowed to experience the warmth and the pleasure that is Louie he pulls away and warms my cheeks with his large hands, "I've been in love with nothing but a memory of a face for the last seven months," he admits to me in a sincere whisper. That's when it clicks, Louie knew me from the moment he walked into the clearing. Why didn't he say something?

My blood is rushing through my ears so when he abruptly backs up and sits in his chair I'm disappointed but it makes sense as Darwin walks through the door, followed by the doctor.

And as the Doctor checks to make sure I'm okay, I let my eyes trail to the two brothers who have impacted my life in different ways but both so important. Without the two of them I would have died in this world. Louie saved me and Darwin kept me safe under his wing. How could I possibly choose between my two saviors?
