*Louis POV*

“Caitlin, how did you get here?”

“Umm, I will let Harry explain that”

Harry perked up at the sound of his name and he looked at Caitlin then at me and explained how he bumped into her and hurt her wrist. As he told the story, I decided to take in how much Caitlin had grown up but that’s not what caught my eye. It wasn’t the white bandage around her wrist either. She had bruises and cuts all over, like she was a little girl’s ragdoll. What had happened? I feel a little guilt and sadness enter my body because I wasn’t there to protect her from whatever did this to her.

“Caitlin, what happened to you? Why are you covered in bruises and cuts?” I questioned.

Tears formed in her eyes, letting a single tear escape and trickle down her cheek. I hit a soft spot. She got up and ran into the closest room.

*Caitlin’s POV*

I couldn’t take it. I couldn’t bear to reveal the answer to that question right there and then. I ran into the closest room. I looked around and I realised it was Liam’s room. I looked around at the Batman quilt cover and chuckled to myself. I walked around and looked around at the photos, there were photos of him as a child, him with some girls (they looked like him so I guess it was his sisters) and there were photos of Liam and the boys, and in some of them Olivia too. Those photos brought a tear to my eye. I missed out on so much and I can never get that back. There was a knock on the door. I opened it and standing in front of me was Olivia. I opened the door wider to let her in and she walked in and sat down on the bed. I waited by the door for a minute after shutting it, taking in how much Olivia had grown up and changed and I think she was doing the same thing because it was silent for a minute.

She finally spoke.

“Caitlin, what did happen? We don’t have to tell the others but at least tell me please?......”

She looked at me with pleading eyes. I hesitated to tell her but she was my twin. I couldn’t hide this from her, it involved her dad and it was obvious it wasn’t nothing.

“It all started the day Mum took you and Louis and left me and Dad.” I stopped and Olivia looked at me, her eyes telling me to continue.

“No sooner you left, he hit me and told me it was my fault. He has hit me everyday since that day. It got worse a year later when he started drinking too. He would come home drunk, blame me for splitting the family up and bash me until I passed out. I was ten when he beat me so bad I passed out for a week. It was pretty much like that until tonight. He forgot to lock the door so I grabbed my stuff and ran.” I told Olivia this while looking down so I looked up to see tears flowing from her eyes. She just looked at me and swallowed me in a hug.

*Olivia’s POV*

OH MY GOD. How on earth did she survive all this? How did she stay so strong? I always had a bad feeling for some reason but now I know why. How could Dad do this to her?

“Caitlin....” I started saying while looking up at her bruised face with tears rolling down.

“How did you stay so strong?” I finished.

“Well before dad pulled me out of school about three months ago, my senior year, I had one friend, Emma-Jane. She is that one person who pulled me through, she didn’t even need to see me to know what was wrong. She always helped me no matter what. That’s how I stayed so strong because of her and I always had hope. Hope that he would either stop or that I would see you and Louis again” She explained as calmly and smoothly as she could while crying.

I just pulled her into my arms and we stayed there until we both fell asleep.

*Louis’ POV*

To say I was worried was an understatement. After Caitlin left, Olivia went to talk to her. That was an hour and a half ago. I couldn’t help but feel guilty because of what happened to her body. I don’t know what happened but I wasn’t there to protect her. I got up to check on them and the boys followed me. I knocked on the door but there was no reply. Liam slowly opened the door and we saw them lying on the bed with tear stains on both of their faces, intertwined into a hug and holding hands showing the close bond they had always shared. I stared at them for a minute and let a tear roll out of my eye. I truly missed Caitlin and now she is back the piece of my heart is finally back. We all snuck back out and shut the door. Liam let us all sleep here so we all fell asleep on the lounge room floor.
